  8. I am 93 days nicotine/smoke free..Smoked for 45 years. Although proud of myself, I am struggling to handle the mental issues that literally started when I quit. Fatigue, brain fog, anxiety, depression, extreme emotional swings and insomnia is wearing me out. I quit cold turkey, but 11 days ago went to a doctor and got put on wellbutrin and buspar. Anyone one else?????
  9. Congratulations @Lust4Life2016 on 10 years smoke free!!🎉What an amazing accomplishment!!🥳 You are now a member of the Decade Club!! Treat yourself big today, you definitely deserve it!
  10. So far, so good. No overwhelming urges, What would get me would be reward myself for not smoking with the typical reward which Was the cigarette. Im bent to make it simple that is the quitting. Am not thinking about smoking.
  11. Welcome @ASHISH JOSHI ! Very good decision to break the chain of smoking. Read as much as possible about addiction. There are also very informative videos. Stay strong and determined. The beginning is tough but you soon will notice improvements such as better breathing and more money in the pocket.
  12. Welcome @ASHISH JOSHI Glad you decided to quit...best thing you can do for yourself! We all know how difficult it is in the beginning, but it does get easier the longer you go without smoking!! We are here to support you! You can do it!
  13. Holy moly I forgot my own ginormous milestone!!! Thank you all for the kind wishes!!! So many that acknowledged this milestone- held my hand through turbulent times! I applaud you!! I’m sad that my fellow ButtKicker Jillar isn’t here to celebrate with me. She’d be cheering and toasting as always! 10 years. Dang. Yay me! Yay support from you! Smoke? N.O.P.E.!
  14. I wish o could transport you what it feels like to finally kick the cigarettes I carnt I can only tell you how wonderful it feels Do all you can to be free 🐸
  15. I'll agree with @GonSo Sal and recommend that you quit as soon as possible. Why delay being free from the clutches of nicotine? The sooner you start, the sooner you'll be free! The other issue with setting a quit date is that you'll make and excuse to delay as that date draws closer - that's just not you, it applies to ALL of us. We're all humans and that is simply a human reaction to something you really would prefer not to have to do. We're all here to support you and here to help guide you with suggestions based on our own quit experiences. That's all we can do. The actual quitting is up to you and be assured, it IS possible for all of us🙂
  16. Way to get it done Lust for Life! Best wishes and congratulations.
  17. Aren’t you tired of the failure-to-quit cycle? You can be free once and for all! Like @Cbdave said, cravings are not commands… just loud commercials for stuff we’re not buying any more. Swat em away and move forward!
  18. Gday 10 years ……. You deserve this! Well done!
  19. Gday Welbutin raises your dopamine levels. When you were smoking the nicotine controlled your dopamine. Nothing was pleasurable unless you had a cig with it. Now it’s time to be good to yourself. Rediscover the simple pleasures like a brisk walk. A long shower. A long talk with an old friend. A movie and being able to sit right through without a needing a cigarette break. Now you’re in the drivers seat not the nicotine…. Takes a bit of adjustment
  20. One minute at a time if need too You can do a minute 🐸
  21. Ah .... pets. They're so precious and such a joy in our lives!
  22. Gday Living with a black dog…. Well it has some surprises. Especially when you take the 1pm pee run in a black hallway and there’s a sleeping black dog. Always ends in tears. On both sides. So we fitted some motion lights at both ends of the hall. First she didn’t like them. But that didn’t last. Now she loves to take her toys to play in the lite hall in the wee hours. She’s super surprised when you don’t want play. Funny about that.
  23. Congratulations! Welcome to the decade club!
  24. Gday Sorry to find you in a bad space. I’ve had a few widow maker experiences that had me unable to work. It was hard to take. A friend offered me a position 3 days a fortnight. Not much money but we got by. Taught me to slow down. Got to see what I actually had. Didn’t like it at the time as it was forced on me. But a lot of life doesn’t get planned it happens. Never did go back full time. Did get another management position …. Again out of the blue. No plans. Did it part time. Trained my replacement. So I got to do the important thing and that was to look after my sweetheart. We didn’t get to do “the big lap” caravan around Australia. We didn’t get a house in the bush like we planned. We got each other. And that was more important than I realised. Life’s a box of chocolates…… you never know….
  25. Nice One L4L! That's a memorable milestone for sure. Congratulations
  26. Go for it, Shy! Yes, it is hard but it will get better. Take it a minute, hour, day at a time. Do not forget to reward yourself!
  27. I wish you well! Many of us here came to the same conclusion @shy Yes it's hard but if you make up hour mind that NOTHING will cause you to smoke, it is always possible for anyone to quit/ You're NO different!
  28. Still been a struggle. I kinda finally realized that the nicotine gum is just a tease and temptation. So I have finished my last cigarette and going to do this cold turkey. Anxious about it for sure but feeling determined. Everything else I quit in life was abruptly so I came to the conclusion this will be no different. Like @SD2026 said one time I'm an all or nothing kind of person so I'm going to use that to my advantage. Will keep y'all updated. Hope you all are doing well. ♒❤️💯
  29. Welcome back. You did it once and you can do it again. Stay strong and busy. Best wishes.
