  3. G’day NOPE .....Not One Puff Ever. Wild mushrooms
  4. My 3rd session was yesterday. Went smooth as silk and NO reactions at all later that day or evening. Tip-top this morning too so that's a relief. I actually think I'm getting off easy so far only having a brief period of sudden and complete exhaustion. There were a number of other possible bad reactions I was warned about during my initial meeting with the Doc and I haven't had any of those so far 🙏 For these sessions of getting the radiation I don't see the Doc. He's not at the actual sessions; just the technitions are there. I did get a message that I'm to see the Doc just after my second last radiation session. I thought that was kind of odd and that he'sd maybe want to see me after my last session? I guess I'll see when the time comes. And I can tell you the most uncomfortable thing I experience each time I go in is waiting around for 10 or 15 minutes in the waiting area just outside where the radiation gizmo is. I usuall see anywhere from 2 or 3 people to maybe 6 or 7 people all waiting to be called in and in most cases they have someone with them as many of them look like they are at death's door. It's sad and a little depressing actually but I thank my lucky stars that I am not in their shoes. I feel kind of bad because maybe they look at me and think ... why doesn't he look as sick as we are? It feels a little embarrasing like I shouldn't be there or something. It has taught me a lesson though and that is "don't feel sorry for yourself cuz there's always others who are worse off than you are."
  5. @catlover I see your point and you are right it could. I have to find out what kinda treat to get myself after the first 24 hours. I cut out sugary ultra processed junk food and soda about a week ago when I quit drinking and weed again. I'm very low maintenance lol. Not into gadgets or toys. Maybe something simple like coloring or something. I used to be a very good artist. Maybe go back into that.
  6. That's GREAT news @Stewbum Keep getting them in future if you/your insurance can afford them because you never know when something might pop up, like it did in my case. Staying poactive is a must for us non-smoking smokers (wait ,,, does that make sense???
  7. Yes, coloring sounds great, and keeps hands busy, that’s a win. i gave myself small treats often, after all, I wasn’t spending £1O a day on cigarettes, so it mounted up quickly. At the end of my first month, I bought myself a Fitbit, as I was walking more. Exercise is great, getting out in the fresh air and going for long walks. Art materials, new clothes, books, or finding a new hobby to engage in. Good for you eating healthier. I have done the same, since April 1st this yr, cut out a lot of rubbish from my diet, UPF crap mainly, feeling loads better and lost weight too …😁
  8. Great idea .. Anything that keep your hands and brain busy will help 🐸
  9. That's great it went well @Reciprocity and I hope it continues to do so! Thank you for the update! 😊
  10. So glad to hear that it went well this time and hopefully for the rest of the sessions!👍
  11. That's good news Reci I hope you continue to handle this that well with the future treatments. It's been two years since my last scan. Your situation gave me the push I needed to schedule a lung scan, and with tremendous fear of the outcome! They read it yesterday and it came back clear thank goodness.
  12. Nope! Complete your metamorphosis and fly free!
  13. Quitting for someone else, can make you resentful. Quit for you, and to make your life better. Give it a go, and reward yourself, with lots of treats 😊
  14. @Doreensfree I just started the gum. I am really going to do this. I promised someone long ago and I have to deliver on that finally
  15. NOPE!! Not on my life.
  16. Thank you all for the kind words. I am truly trying. I threw myself into some projects cause I relapsed on alcohol and weed but I'm a week sober now. I did end up getting nicotine gum to help with cravings. But I will not take another puff. 5:30 tomorrow I will be 24 hours smoke free I will def let you know. Again thank you all it means a lot to know I have support here. 😀
  17. Thank you so for the update Good to hear you feel more comfortable this time around It’s tough watching other people go through thier treatments As you say there is always someone worse Stay positive Buddy ❤️
  18. Good for you @shy. Attaway to turn things around! Yes, every hour you don’t smoke is a big victory. They add up fast! I, too, occasionally used nicotine gum/lozenges as a temporary tool while quitting. Way better than smoking or vaping, when used to protect your quit. Let us know how you do during those first 24 hrs.
  19. I’m sorry for your loss Life throws us some crap curve balls Stay strong , you will be so mad if you lose your wonderful Quit Smoking won’t change what had happened Stay close to the board 🐸
  20. Sorry to hear about your friend @Pilgrim 😢 That's a tough thing to get through and made even worse wheen your addiction decides to attack your mind at the same time but that's exactly what shaking this addiction is all abou. Learning to stand up for what you know is the smart thing to do, especially when those strong urges come calling. It's hard to maintain your strength against the addiction when you're in a weak moment but you simply MUST! You know smoking will do NO good and won't even make you feel better, in fact, quite the opposite. Stay the course man! It's really important!! 💪
  21. I'm sorry you lost your friend @Pilgrim You've nothing to be embarrassed about by admitting what all of us went/is going through also! Everyone on this forum totally gets it! You did the right thing posting here and well done for staying strong and not giving in! I saw that you pledged NOPE today! 😊
  22. Well done for acknowledging the craving and batting it away! @Pilgrim💪🏻😊
