  3. Hello nice to meet you. We got this! When I was younger I always said if I traveled over seas it would be Australia
  4. Today
  5. G’day NOPE .....Not One Puff Ever.
  6. Thank you, QuittingGirl, and congratulations on your successful quit!! Chantix gives me a little nausea but not too bad. The last time that I quit using Chantix I got pretty bad gas. I just bumped up to the full strength today and I'm really hoping to avoid that.

  8. Hello Shy, We have the same quit date, today! We got this!!!
  9. Well, @shy you and I lead very similar lives, with regard to quitting, and quitting with Chantix, in addition to having a mother who smokes, we both live with our Moms, well sort of! My mom and I own a two family house. She lives downstairs and my family and I live upstairs. But, you get the picture, and to make a long story short, I can smell her smoke in the common hallway because smoke rises. So, it hasn't been easy, but I have gotten through it, and YOU WILL TOO!!!! As I said a couple times earlier, VISIT THIS SITE EVERY SINGLE DAY, (SEVERAL DAYS, AT LEAST!) DO IT, YOU CERTAINLY CAN!!!
  10. Definitely. I mean my mom keeps cigs in her room cause she smokes in there but I am going to try my best to stay away from her room
  11. Very sorry to hear that you went back, but it's very good that you came back on here! This is my 2nd, and last time quitting! I certainly don't want to go through those horrible withdrawal symptoms again! NO WAY!!! Just the thought of that really upsets me because it was just terrible! The first time I quit, I didn't have this forum, but I believe if I did, I would not have gone back to smoking. The members of QuitTrain are amazing! They have helped me so much since the day I came on here, and we will help you too! You just have to stick around! I really mean it, support will really help you to quit. We are addicts, just like drug addicts, gambling addicts, and any type of addict needs support. I remember when I used to go to Weight Watchers, they said that you really have to attend the meetings for it to work, and it's true. Addicts need support because quitting any addiction is really really difficult, but it can be done, and when you have support, it makes it so much easier because you aren't alone. We were all newbies at one time, some were able to quit only once and others like you, myself and many others are on their hopefully FINAL time! Hey I can't go back to smoking because my dear friend and co-moderator @Doreensfree would woop my A$$....LOL!!! YOU CAN DO THIS SHY!!! I want to add another tip, if you haven't done it yet. Get rid of any smoking paraphenalia that is in your living quarters. No packs of cigarettes, ashtrays, matches lighters, anything related to smoking!
  12. Yep tell them craves to bugger off, You are in charge now.
  13. Hi shy, good to see you back, and getting back at it. It is scary to think of never smoking again, but take it a day at a time, and give yourself small rewards for getting through a day, then a week, and so on. It’s amazing how health and wealth grows.
  14. Congratulations on 9 months free, a great milestone … Keep rockin on….
  15. Well I have an update. I still have not stopped smoking but today I am going to do this! I'm picking up my first inhaler later and it's just got me in my feelings. Like I have really messed up my life from smoking and I'm angry at myself that I never stopped a long time ago. Smh. I HAVE to do this now. I want a better quality of life. I hope you are all doing well and thank you.

  17. Hi @JoJo Welcome! I was on Chantix the first time I quit and at that time it was a wonder drug for me. I did get the vivid dreams but they didn't bother me. The side effect that really got to me was the nausea which I had in the very beginning of taking it. Do you get the nausea? Unfortunately I went back to smoking after 6 years but I didn't know about this site back then. I truly believe if I was on here, I wouldn't have started smoking again. This 2nd and last time, I started with the weaning method and then when that didn't work, I just went cold turkey. Chantix will help you a lot but you still have to come on here every day and do the daily NOPE pledge. I really believe that is what has gotten me though this for the past 3 years, it keeps me focused. We are all here to support you which will really help! You can do this! Stay strong!!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
