Hi @healthydude Welcome aboard, so glad you found us. Quitting smoking is not easy as we all know, but it's definitely very doable as our members can attest to. We have members here from newbies such as yourself all the way up to 20 plus years and everything in between. My advice is to stay close to this site because you will get really great support. Do the daily Nope pledge and read all the information that we have. Try and come on most every day because I truly believe staying close to this forum will help you succeed. If you feel like you are going to relapse there is an SOS section. Since we have members from all over the world, there is usually someone on at all different times. Good luck to you and hope to see you on here again soon!

I just wanted to say hello, and say that I quit today! I smoked for ten years, 20-25 cigarettes per day. I was successful at quitting for about 6 months in 2019 but relapsed. My biggest motivation is that I have forgotten what it feels like to be healthy, and I long for that feeling. I had my last cigarette 2 hours ago. Wish me luck!

Offhand i don’t recall my quit date but it’s been some years. Living my life without smoking is just normal now, of course, but to be honest, over the years there have been times where the demons reappear and i need to fight the urge to smoke. I’ve realized through my last quit that i’m an addict and cigarettes are my drug of choice. Living by the motto of Not One Puff Ever really means something. Once an addict always an addict, and although i won the fight it’s a lifelong battle to make the right choice. I’ve dropped in on occasion over the years when times were tough and these posts really help. Thanks to those that post. NOPE
