New and wondering how to quit with mental illness?
DenaliBlues replied to shy's topic in Introductions & About Us
No time like the present to begin again! And I agree with @catlover that the reward possibilities are endless. A visit to a nice museum or aquarium… some new art supplies… watching a favorite movie… getting a fresh haircut… Reward yourself often to celebrate your milestones! As you are quitting it also might be helpful to be temporarily a little lenient with yourself on dietary restrictions. It’s great to be healthy. At the same time, it’s important to not feel 100% deprived. Also your blood sugar might go a bit low and you may crave unusual things. It normalizes. Keep us posted! -

New and wondering how to quit with mental illness?
catlover replied to shy's topic in Introductions & About Us
Yes, coloring sounds great, and keeps hands busy, that’s a win. i gave myself small treats often, after all, I wasn’t spending £1O a day on cigarettes, so it mounted up quickly. At the end of my first month, I bought myself a Fitbit, as I was walking more. Exercise is great, getting out in the fresh air and going for long walks. Art materials, new clothes, books, or finding a new hobby to engage in. Good for you eating healthier. I have done the same, since April 1st this yr, cut out a lot of rubbish from my diet, UPF crap mainly, feeling loads better and lost weight too … -
