  2. Yeah, some ritual associations take longer to re-wire. Good for you for staying strong as you pass through that phase. For me it was writing+smoking and also being outside+smoking. But there's a happy ending in store for you. I'm now able to do both without being triggered (or miserable). The same will be true for you! Stew, I love "Don't Worry" being on your quitting soundtrack. My own soundtrack included, "On My Way" by Rusted Root, "I Will Survive" by Gloria Gaynor, "Think" by Aretha Franklin and "Never Goin Back" by Fleetwood Mac. Oh, and sometimes the Rockapella version of "Road to Shambala." It's hard to relapse when you're dancing like a fool in your living room, LOL. @JoJo what songs belong on your quitting "greatest hits" list? KTQ!

  6. I think today would be a good day to quit @shy It's good you don't crave them like before and when you quit you'll have started the process of getting healthy and living life nicotine free! Keep posting on this forum and you'll receive amazing help as and when needed, you won't be going through this alone.
  7. It's not easy to slow down when you're used to working hard! You're right to be prepared and search for a good bypass surgeon now rather than later although I can only imagine it's difficult to come to terms with having to go through this procedure.

  14. Yesterday I had a really big trigger. My favorite NFL team's first preseason game. I got through the game with a little discomfort but it was definitely worth it!. It's good for me to make it through a few preseason games before the regular season starts. I get really amped during games and used to take many smoke breaks. No more of that!!! NOPE! Go Saints!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
