Gday
Id Like the burn these unused cigs in memory of my oldest mate, Grant.
We were in the same class as children, did every thing together. Yes and snuck a few of his old man’s smokes behind the back shed.
When we left school he finally got the courage to leave home and joined the Navy to see the world. I thought it was a great way to escape a little dusty inland town so I did the same.
Our paths crossed many times and we finally lost touch. Then a friend connected me with his ph no last year. It was as great to catch up and fill in the missing years. I had the feeling he wasn’t well and he finally admitted he had lung cancer. I wanted to jump on a plane and fly down. He talked me out of that saying we’d organise a proper visit. Wasn’t to be. The phone calls stopped some days after.
He didn’t have a funeral or service and his ashes were to buried at sea.
So this is a Vikings funeral……
God bless old friend ……
