Wow! Good for you @breath ! That's an impressive amount of time to be quit and seems it's a good thing you did as you'd be in a much different place health wise today if you had continued smoking. You basically saved your life by quitting when you did

I agree. They're really an essential medical procedue for all us X-smokers. The idea being if there is anything worrying, at least you're catching it early. As with all cancers, by the time you start feeling symptoms, it's usually much more advanced meaning more difficut to treat. I had my annual yesterday - results July 6th.

I bet you're relieved @Nancy! Great news that all's clear

In 99 days I will have completed 25 years. I started on my 40 th birthday and my 65th birthday will be 25:years. The time has flown and my health is good. I had asthma when I was a child and 25 years of smoking gave me mild COPD. Nothing has changed over the last 15;Years. I use an asthma inhaler every day and occasionally use anti biotics for chest infections during winters. This has been the best thing I have ever done for my health.

So happy for the good news, Nancy!! Hooray!! And thanks for the good reminder for us all… Ask your doctor about getting chest CTs for lung disease screening. For people over 50 with a history of heavy smoking, annual screening scans are free under most insurance plans in the US.
