**** it.  I don't care if you cuss, especially in this forum.  Just a little tact on the main boards though.  Again, **** it.

  • Holy fcuking shit... Just got given a letter from my boss... Got an unexpectedly massive Payrise and bonus due to 'the great level of service provided to my customers'... Tasha will be over the moon,

  • Me!  I'm am counting on all of you to get me through.  Lust4Life I understand how you feel.  You are all beginning to mean so much to me.  I feel as if you all have been friends with me my whole life.

Ouch MLMR, I grew up with having cold sores all the time but never inside my mouth. That must be so painful 😞 I have heard of other members getting the mouth sores, we call them canker sores here, though so I think it's semi normal. I hope they heal quickly and that it's a one time cleansing type situation for you. Xoxo

And thank you about my mom, others have made me feel a little better about her situation in that she could live for many years with the condition.

That's not good Doreen 😞 Please watch your diet, we need you!

Thank you Jillar ...I do eat healthy ..I only weigh 120 pounds...I'm not really a junk food junkie ....

Drink less wine ..more water for me ...I'm not a big drinker of either ...but a big coffee drinker ...need a lifestyle change ...

I don't drink enough water either but for me the more water I drink the more I have to pee! This getting old shit sucks lol!!!

That's what puts me off drinking lots of water. It comes out as fast as it goes in. Hated getting up 5 times in the night to go to toilet too.

While I'm here why is healthy food way more expensive than junk food, why don't people do vegetarian food that tastes half decent - it's always crap, why do restaurants think all vegetarians eat pine nuts, goats cheese and three bean chilli 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

This was me last night 😞 And any given night a minimum of three times during the night 😞  I'm not a vegetarian but I hear you about the high cost of eating healthy!

I don't know why this pisses me off so much but it does.

Why do people make a post that they're quitting, let people spend loads of effort writing posts on welcoming and helping them with tips etc and then the OP just pisses of and never responds.

How much effort does it take to say I decided not to quit/I keep failing but still trying/ decided a forum wasn't for me.

I know the forum is to be used however suits you personally but it really does piss me off when people post and just disappear 🙄🙄

Lilly, that doesn't piss me off as much as it makes me sad.  Since I have finally been able to take hold of my quit, I want so much for others to be able to also.

They might be succeeding Linda but we'll never know because they never post ☹️

It comes with the territory in a place like this. I can't tell you how many have just disappeared since I have been here and that's only 2 years. There was one who left because she was reminded too much of smoking while participating on the forum here. That's fine and I can understand and accept that. We all have to find our own way and what works best for us as individuals. It is disheartening though when people go and you never hear from them again. We can only hope they have found their quit on their own like people used to before there were places like this :)

Yet despite all the set-backs and temporary failure we witness here, there is always hope for a brighter future for everyone who comes here. If even one of us can do it then we all can do it! We each just need to find the way that works for us because it all boils down to putting as much time between ourselves and smoking as we can. It doesn't get harder with time; it gets easier. It's that way for all of us. If you want it badly enough then it's there for the taking. You just have to put in the work for it :)

Reci and Doreen I love your posts.

Those posts are I think why it bothers me. You both are quit and now you are both living your comfortable and happy smoke free lives.

Neither of you have to be here helping us this far down the line but you both turn up every day and post words of encouragement.

I know you have made friends here and seeing them is something you enjoy. You could still come here though and just post in the social threads and not bother posting to new quitters but you don't. You still care about helping other people. So a thank you or an update would be nice 🙄

Wow, I'm like a broken record now and can't seem to get off my soap box.

If I sound like a dick with my rants today I'm going to play the "I quit smoking so I get away with stuff" card lol.

You are just going through what we all go through and feeling the same emotions we all have at some point or other. Some stay, some go. Does not matter as long as there are some here to try and help guide new quitters to their desired goal - a smoke free life!

Yes Lilly it would be nice but we don't come here every day expecting an update or thank you. For me, I come to pay it forward for all the help that was given me. And a lot of times we are pleasantly surprised when someone pops in to tell us they are still smoke free even when they disappeared because that's really what it's all about :)

If I can save one person from killing themselves im happy....we post because we don't know which person it might be ...

Your still early in your quit Lilly....

If you want to Thank us ....stay quit ...That's the best reward for us oldies ....

WTFFFFFF.  All I did was bend over and get in bed last night and something happened to my back.  I can not lay comfortably, stand straight, or walk.  The pain at the middle of my back makes me sick to my stomach.  What gives.  I am worthless right now.  My husband stayed home to take me to emergency room.  Will keep you posted.  All I can say is this sucks.

I have too much to do and we were due to leave for vacation next week!

Sorry to hear. Hope it's just temporary and you are up and at 'em very soon. You do want to be mobile for vacation time that's for sure.

I've had similar things happen - although not for a long time now. But, it's frustrating when you don't even understand what you did yet you can't move because the pain is so sharp when you do try to move. Usually a lower back muscle issue.  Guessin they will give you some muscle relaxers or similar.

Take good care. And remember, husbands take over when wives can't do it :)

Oh no @Linda Thomas, I'm sorry you hurt your back. Reci is so right, especially as we get older, about not knowing what we did to hurt our bodies. My right upper arm has been sore for almost two months now and I can't for the life of me figure out what I did to it either 😞

Hopefully yours doesn't last that long! I'll keep you in my thoughts and hope you get better soon. Xoxo

My hubby took off work to take me to emergency room.  I am sitting here aggitated that it is taking so long.  They stick you in a cold room and forget about you.  Just get me the pain pills!

Of course they have filled me in on all the bad things that it could be because I was a smoker!  Tough having to face that reality.  Hoping it is something simple.

I was thinking the same Jillar.  I am so proud of my quit.

They couldn't even put us is a room with a working tv!   They did finally give me a darvoset, so I should be in s happy place soon .  It does not take much to knock me out.
