..... news!!!!

I've been luckily blessed to have found a new furry 'flat mate' who will come to live next Saturday!

Her name is Dakota, she's 9 years old, and her 'mummy' has been looking to rehome her since May! She's a British Shorthair, who no longer wants to have 'kids'... hehehe!

Apparently, she always was a 'silent caller'.....

We met yesterday, and we CLICKED like you wouldn't believe!

Her mummy was SO happy that she cried!!!!! People have been enquiring about her, and/or coming to see her for a while, but she wouldn't have a bar of them, OR her mum sensed they weren't real 'lovers'... (from the comments they made)

Well... she and I are MFEO!!! (made for each other) ... both old, and past childbearing   and yet, still have a little "playfulness" left in us!

Her expression 'says it all'! an absolute DOLL!!!!

That is awesome news!  Some of my best friends are cats and that one there is a beauty!  It must be such a relief to the other woman that she will be going to such a good home.  Enjoy!!

Brilliant....Love it....my little pic is ted...my 1 year old British shorthair...

O.m.g.....he is the most loveable placid kitty ....he just loves to follow me...watch what I do....

I'm sure you and your kitty will have years of fun together....

Xxxx

Cats are taking over the world....

Glad you guys found each other though!

Awesome - sounds like you will be perfect together :-)

Wow, what a beauty - I'm sure you will make each other very happy :)

What a beauty!!  So happy for you both.

Brit's rule ;)

Nearly forgot.....

NOW I can afford to buy, not only a new litter tray, (breeder uses the ozpet method, so better stick with what Dakota knows) but

a new scratching post!!!

*HUGE SIGHS*  it's SOOO amazing being "FREEEEE"!!!!

Were there no dogs available in your area?

Sucks that you had to settle for a cat... but ok.

I live in an upstairs apartment, with only a balcony as an 'outside loo'... plus, there are days I'm not able to leave home...

I DO love dogs though!  all animals really!

ONE MORE SLEEP!!

Congrats on the new kitteh! She's a pretty baby isn't she!!

DD, she's no 'kitty'... like me, she's a "mature" aged puddy cat!!!

we're MFEO!!!

She came to live with me on Saturday afternoon, and today she actually GREETED me with 'meow' purrs, rubbing etc....

Still in the study here, but it's a huge room... will put some pics when I've got them on the lappy...

She'll take a while to feel as if she "owns" the place... but she 'loves' me for now...

Strange, if I didn't know better, I'd say she was 'hit with a hand'.... she'll come to me, smooch and roll etc, but jump if I put my hand on her head to start with... also, NO WAY does she like to be held......

Anyway, it's early days and she'll 'blossom' into the personality she's going to be here, when she's ready.. was desexed the day before coming to live here, so there's that to consider....

Will keep y'all posted...xox

Sounds like she is settling in well. My cat is probably the most affectionate cat I've known, but also dislikes to be held, hugged, or picked up - maybe something to do with feeling trapped?

Looking forward to seeing your pictures :)

Hi Ria,

My British blue is a big softy....he loves his cuddles...but doesn't like to be picked up either...

When I read up about this breed...it did say...they like thier feet to stay on the floor.

Having said that...he does love a sit on my lap...but on his terms

When she settles in...who knows....

Enjoy each other xx

LOL I call my 5&9 year old dogs "my puppies".

So glad that she is settling in nicely! I'm sorry for her that she flinches. :( My rescue black cat was abused before we adopted him. It took him a little while to warm to everyone now he is king of the castle (one of the many who rule the roost here).

  • Author

Yeah, you can always tell when they've been 'abused' although I use that term lightly... for me, any cat or dog, that 'flinches' has had SOME sort of 'mishap' or ill treatment....  (keeping a cat in a 'cage' regardless of size, is ill treatment IMO!)

Anyway, now she's going to have the BEST rest of her life!!! and me too.... already starting to investigate further afield... (i.e. away from the sofa and her carrier)

Once she "owns the place" I'll surely post heaps of pics!!

And thank y'all for the kind, supportive comments!  You're all STARS! XOX XOX XOX

Did I mention I'm calling her 'Sissi'?? It just keeps falling from my mouth.. SO much smoother than "Dakota".. wubly name, but not a 'pet' name...

My Samantha is Sammy... Tennille is Tenny, and Heidi, well.. she's Heidi!!! LOL!!!

I'm awful for names ending with 'eee'....
