Newbie in my house

Featured Replies

So I've dealt with a lot of death lately and y'all know that I rescue my pets. Venus was an older rescue as was my beloved Batman who was almost 32.

I decided to rescue a youngin this time around (for now)

This is Nebula :)

So adorable!  We rescued a kitten a week or so ago.  His name is Thor and we are having so much fun with him!

I can imagine your kids are loving having a kitten in the house.

So adorable! I'm itching to adopt another cat.

Welcome to DD's family little Nebula. :D

Absolutely gorgeous ... But dare I say ...welcome to a wonderful world of annoyance ... Enjoy :-)

And just sayn rescue lads are really good at the latter ... Aka Machu !

I was going to rescue a pup but my older dogs won't like that. :) Thanks, it is rough when they pass.

Aww DD... he's LUBLY!!!

Know what you mean about loss... Precious (she's in the pic) died last year, and I was shattered for weeks!!!

As I type this my eyes are glossing....

Sudden Cat Death the vet said..... I'd never heard of it, but it's 'common' apparently... think this is what's preventing me

from adopting another...

Have been looking around, but not "clicked" with anyone yet...

I'm sorry to hear about your recent losses of your fur baby's... Sending a big hug to you.

Nebula looks like quite the character, I'm sure he/she will fit right in :d

I had a 3  year old cat that died suddenly about a month or so ago.  I still cry over it.  My vet said that sudden death like that can happen with cats too.  So hard.

So sorry for your loss Ria. It really is a rough thing when they leave us. My oldest boxer Midian passed in December and even though I knew it was coming when it happened I was devastated. I really wanted to adopt a dog from the shelter but I really am not "there" yet. Venus was about 16 years old and was a persian. That is a pretty long life for a flat faced cat. She went peacefully in her sleep. My daughter took it hard and talked me into the kitten.

Batman was my horse. He was a rescue Percheron who used to be an amish farm horse and a carriage horse who worked in downtown Savannah. He was a sweet old guy. He had severe skin allergies and developed breathing issues. When I found out that the stable where I boarded him was using him as a lesson horse I moved him up North to live at my dad's ranch. I am planning to adopt another horse eventually. :)

Aww DD ...I didn't know you had lost Venus....

I hope batman gets to have the peaceful life he deserves.....

You have had a lot to deal with ....so maybe this little kitty will help you comes to terms with it all...

Hugs xxxx

Thanks everyone xox

DOREEN!!! Who's that GORGEOUS blue baby in your PP???

and yes, DD, 16 years is a LONG time for a Persian! My favourite was always Persians, but fell TOTALLY head over heals in love with Precious, who was a Birman... deaf as a post as it turned out... didn't know that when I got her.. they were going to "put her down" :o :o :o  because "the other cat didn't get on with her"...!!!???

Some people shouldn't be allowed animals of ANY sort.. even worms! :D

I'm considering an Exotic.. (short hair Persian) easier to maintain, as getting on now... used to "foster" for my dear friend who was a breeder/shower in her hay day.... also retired now.. so helps her cousin out with his Peeks..

It's SO lovely to know y'all!! xox

Here's a pic of my Precious, lazing in her outdoor chair!!
Her favourite spot as long as it wasn't too hot or too cold!

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... won't paste here either!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! never mind...

I thought I had made folks suffer enough with my pic...

He's my baby boy....Ted....11 months old.....

My grown up kids bought him for me...because after 52years,mum is not killing herself anymore with cigs....

You scared me with the batman comments until you added he was moved to a farm. I will quit crying in a minute.

Boxshitter still are just little aliens studying for the take over

WOOHOO!!!! it WORKED to day!!!!!!!

What breed is he??  Aww...Ted...xox

I used to have a  Cream Persian called Teddy, who had to stay with my friend until we got 'settled' and once we were, she wouldn't relinquish him!! Put on such a turn... God! he was SUCH a softie!! and SOO easy going..

How's Nebula settling in, DD?

Hope 'no news is good news'... xox

She's a trip! Jupiter (other cat) was lonely and took right to her. They chase each other around the house like lunatics at midnight. She doesn't mind the dogs at all even though they are big and she loves my daughter. She plays with her all of the time.

Awww... DD xox that sounds GORGEOUS!!

One of the 'rules' on that list from ...? oh dear... can't remember now... anyway, I saved it... was...... "have you hugged a living being"....

and I'm sure THAT's what's missing from my life atm...

GOOD FOR YOU!

BAKON, it was Bakon who posted that list!!! ;)
