Make and stick to a personal commitment you made the day you quit to never take another puff.

I watched lots of Joel videos when I first quit, his words really helped me.

stay strong and determined. Don’t let anything deter you from the path of freedom.

It's not more complicated than that.  "EZPZ" (sgt.barney)

Still smoke free! I am chewing non-nicotine sugar free gum.

Gday

i chewed gum till my jaws ached. Moved onto tic tacs, do many and the mint burned my taste buds. Moved onto the fruit tic tacs. Ahhh. Found my new mouth comfort!

And at less then a calorie each they are the breakfast foods of super models.

They have a great little box that requires you to stop, open and carefully remove one, shut it up carefully so none escape and put it back in your pocket. Fulfills your need of ritual.
Still have a packet around to this day though I don’t get nervous about not having a packet like I would in the early days.

Has anyone heard of the Smoke Free app?

Help!! I want to go buy a pack but I’m posting here first. I had a real panic when a text message came on my phone. It said that MAGA wants to defund SS. I assume that means disability which I am on. Can they really do that? Boy it makes me want to smoke.

Smoking will not make anything better @Kdad  It will not solve any problems, even things beyond your control.  You do have control of your quit and you are strong enough to keep the quit.  Don't light up.

I don’t believe all that I read

Smoking won’t change anything ….

It will only mean your out of pocket by a lot more money

Quitting us a instant pay rise 🐸

@Kdad nobody is going to take away your disability, so please stop worrying!  Please don't go and buy any cigs because that will NOT help you one bit, it will just make you worse!!!  Cigarettes don't make anything better.  You can do this!!!👍

Made it through the intense crave!

Gday

And the pay back for doing that?

Next time you meet a crave it gets weaker!

And you get stronger!
The trick is not to fight and struggle

Just wait calmly

And in five minutes it slithers away and is gone

You’ll still be here

So hang in there

It's highly unlikely any one individual can unilaterally affect such a change, but regardless, don't throw your quit away on a politician. You've worked too damn hard to let them bring you down. Every time I'm even remotely tempted to start smoking, I think, "Is this person worth giving up my quit for?"

The answer, thus far, has been a resounding "NOPE!"

Well done @Kdad.... Think about how much more expensive your life will get if you have to feed a nicotine habit.
