August 19, 201412 yr Author I made an appointment with a dr to discuss bio identical hormones. I can be a guinea pig for the board on this issue
August 19, 201412 yr I went on a menopause support forum yesterday and there was a huge fight on a thread about medicine vs. no medicine. :) reminded me of other boards Sorry but lol. Fingers crossed the docs can give some advice on the bio thing. And also, what's the bio thing?? Clueless but as it's a coming I suppose keeping up to date would do no harm :) x x
August 19, 201412 yr I hope that they offer you relief Beacon. I know people that have had great results on HRT. I am not looking forward to menopause at all. I have a genetic blood clotting disorder that prevents me from being able to take any sort of hormonal treatment. :( I am going to have to suffer. :(
August 21, 201412 yr Author Bio identical hormones are supposedly compounded for your body and are natural . Who knows if it is bs. The cream I am using over the counter is feh. The search continues. http://www.health.harvard.edu/newsweek/What-are-bioidentical-hormones.htm
August 21, 201412 yr 52 here and menopause started last year. Think I'm almost through the worst of it. . .moderate hot flashes; yeah, fans and arguments with hubby over "you can't be hot," etc. But, usually sitting down, drinking ice water, and 15 minutes later it's pretty much over. I eat lots of garlic; don't know yif that has helped with minor hot flashes or not. I chose to avoid the artificial hormone route. Lots of reasons, negative stories, etc. but mostly, trying to accept that aging is a part of life and thousands of years of women like us have gone through it just fine. Course, I want my own "hut" on the edge of the village quite frequently. . . Part I hate is the changes in skin and this weird weight gain around the middle. I've never been exactly svelte, but this is just weird. Sigh. Part of life. Right.
August 21, 201412 yr Susana, feel free to visit my Mid Life Misery thread in the off the record section for complaining about mid life female stuff! Thanks sweety... I knew this thread.... but I have nothing positive to contribute here other than a massive hug to all the female members. I don´t even want to talk about it. :gagging-928: :cray:
August 21, 201412 yr I have heard black cohosh herb can help.....but I never tried it....... I did try h.r.t it helped with the sweats....but gave me other bad stuff to put with.....so I came off it again.....

August 21, 201412 yr La B is better - just mildly psychotic and violent now.... I have come to the conclusion that there is some type of design fault...women and hormones....its like Nitro and Glycerine....
August 21, 201412 yr I'm on my mini-phone now.... but I can type... and you will wonder.... and ask, rightly... "Susana, how come that you have had your new phone for almost two months now and this is the first time you can actually type properly?" And I answer: "Because I'm wearing reading glasses". :-(

August 28, 201412 yr Author This dr is a boutique dr with bio identical hormones plus every anti aging treatment in the world such as plasma injections and radio frequency lasers and fancy detoxes to lose weight such as a liver flush. :0 This is the first doctor I have been to whose nurses offered me coffee or tea or sparkling water. They are are wrinkle fee with collagen lips and wide eyes. Lord have mercy. When did I turn into this type of person.
