August 10, 20224 yr Author I'm doing well. Had a long weekend out of town and then spent yesterday sick in bed. Tested negative for COVID so I must have picked up some other 24 hour bug. It was nice to be able to go away without worrying about when/where/how often I could smoke. I always hated that dreaded first thing in the morning: leaving your hotel room, navigating through the hallways, elevators, lobby to go outside to smoke and then rinse/repeat 20 or so minutes later.
August 10, 20224 yr Sorry you haven't been good FM....feel better soon .... It's amazing just how long we spent out our trips sorting out the smoking.... Where and when and how many we could fit in .... Well done you put all that crap behind you ....🐸
August 10, 20224 yr Glad to hear it FM! was kind of worried about you there. Edited August 10, 20224 yr by overcome

One of my best quit benefits too Funky!! Travelling is a lot more pleasant as a non-smoker. A year or so before my quit we flew to Istanbul from Toronto - 10 hrs. non-stop. Major nico-withdrawal BIG TIME! Think I almost knocked the wife over trying to get outside to have a smoke once we landed 😬 So nice to have those years in the rearview mirror now 🤗
August 13, 20224 yr Author Just a quick check in - I'm still here! Hope everyone is having a good weekend.
August 15, 20224 yr Author Crazy, busy week ahead for me. Most minutes of most days are good - still getting caught off guard with occasional zingers (craves) out of the blue. Nothing that makes me want to go back to a smoking me
August 15, 20224 yr You will have all that extra time in your busy week...not needing a fix every 20 minutes or so...👍🐸

I think the biggest learning curve so far (for me) is how to be mad/annoyed/irritated/frustrated as a non-smoker. Happy, sad, sick, tired, hungry, bored, excited - all seem fine. Still not planning to give up this quit. NOPE, NOPE, NOPE. So far no people, animals, insects, invertebrates, plants, mollusks, or other living beings have been harmed during this quit (despite my urges to the contrary) 🤣
August 19, 20224 yr We have the perfect thread in the Off the Record ..In the basement here ... You can let off steam there ... Your doing great FM....I love your determination..... Stuff comes and goes ...😁🐸
August 20, 20224 yr I was the opposite @FunkyMonkey, I would have my worst craves when I was happy or celebrating something but fine when I was mad or sad. I used my air cigarette during those times....
August 23, 20224 yr Author I had a house full of relatives with the obligatory sight seeing trips from Friday - Monday and follow up medical tests today. Found myself trying to sneak outside to smoke more than once. Instead, I just snuck outside (without lighting anything on fire) to take a quick break or two.
