Finished the changing table for the nursery this afternoon.  The build itself was relatively easy, but it took a while to get the finish to match up to that of the crib and bookshelf.

Right now, we have hardwood floors in the nursery.  I've gone back-and-forth between putting down carpet in the room or just refinishing the hardwood and putting down area rugs.  I'm leaning towards the rug route.  It will give us more options to change things up as she gets older.  And, you can always take a rug out and clean it or replace it if need be.  This is not a statement on Miss Maddie personally, but babies do have a reputation for being messy.

Before I do anything to the floor, we're going to paint the walls.  This is the part of the makeover where Sugar Britches takes charge.  She has a far better eye for colors and decor than I do.

In my (not so) humble opinion, Carpet is awful.  Never gets really clean.  Nice wood floors and some rugs.  Easy to maintain and beautiful.

Wooden floor gets my vote too.....

Accident,s happen from both ends ....you need to be able to mop up ....

Oh !!!!......yep .....a photo would be great .....pretty please ......

It sounds like the nursery is coming along nicely .....well done ....

If I can ever figure out how to post personal photos directly from my PC to this site or via e-mail, I will.

I tried to upload some photos after the wedding.  The computer said I needed to change the photos to a "jpeg" format, so I did.  Then the computer told me it didn't recognize the files.

I was told I could load my photos to a third-party site that would manage the pictures for me, but I don't really trust any of these tech companies.

Well you better figure it out Boo!  We ladies are expecting pictures of that beautiful Boo Baby!

I use IrfanView 64 (it is a free program you can google and download) to crop and size my pictures.  I then save them to my pictures on the computer and retrieve them from there.

Hope that helps!

If you're uploading them from a digital camera just use the program that came with your camera. Otherwise if the pic is on my phone I forward it to my email and save it from there to my picture folder on my computer. You shouldn't have to change the format at all to do that.

Then when you're ready to post here, I click choose files next to the paperclip below this text box. Choose from where to get it and it will open your pic folder. Click on the pic you want and it will automatically download it.

Miss Maddie's nursery is coming together now.  The walls are freshly painted.  The hardwood floors are in tip-top shape.  Her crib and changing table are set up.  The only things left to do now are more of a decorative nature and moving some furniture around.  I am going to anchor the bookshelf that I built to the wall.  I was a climber as a baby and I've learned from my in-laws that Sugar Britches liked to scale things as a child.  So it seems likely that Maddie will be a bit curious about what's just beyond reach.

In other baby news: the girl is getting more active by the day.  She is kicking and fluttering about in there.  And she responds to my voice.  Sugar Britches said Maddie starts moving around more when I'm talking.  I take that as a sure sign she's excited about meeting her daddy.

We're still about three months from the big day and that kid already has me wrapped around her tiny little finger.

At last!!!!......some lovely news .....

Your nursery almost done ....all ready for the little person ....

Nice to hear our new family ...to be ....is healthy and happy .....

Thank you Sweetie .....we love baby Maddie news ....

Added another touch to the nursery area today, this time an exterior project.  I built a couple of window box flower planters, painted them, and will hang them outside the windows of the nursery.  Now Miss Maddie will have pretty flowers right outside her window.  We're probably going to go with petunias in one planter and impatiens in the other.

Sugar Britches is in the process of reworking and painting some old kitchen cabinets to use as a toy box.

This self-quarantine is giving me and the better half a lot of time to work on around-the-house projects.

We're in the third trimester now.  The big day is approaching fast.

Miss Maddie is fit as a fiddle.  She is approximately 36 centimeters long and weighs in at a little over two pounds.  We got a look at her on the ultrasound machine.  Wasn't exactly the clearest picture, but the doctor walked us through what we were looking at.  It looked like she was sticking her little tongue out at the camera, the kid's a yuckster already.  In the coming weeks Maddie will start putting on up to one pound per-week...put on a few pounds before making the big move.

Sugar Britches is in good health and good spirits.  She is beginning to feel very, very, pregnant though.  Shoes that fit used to fit her perfectly are too tight now because her feet swell up from time-to-time.  Her lower back and hips are kind of wonky right now...having a little human being growing inside you is no easy task.  I'm helping in every way that I can.  I am partly responsible for the shape she's in.

The OB/GYN we are seeing is awesome.  She has been great from the very start and in light of everything going on in the world right now, she made every accommodation to make today's visit safe and convenient.  The Doc is a top-shelf professional.

Oh, this is super news, Boo.  Your OB/GYN sounds great.  I know you must be especially concerned considering the world right now.

we all have you in our thoughts.

All you need to do is love your Sugar Britches.  Put her feet up.  Soak in epsom salts. Massage her back and hips.  Slow dance.

Get her more water to drink.  Just love her up,  Boo.

Y'alls  adventure with your Maddie May is almost here.
