Postive reinforcement.......

I want to start a thread so that I and other newbies can remind ourselves of the positive things about quitting.  Sometimes we get so lost in our junkie thinking and emotions, that we can very quickly lose touch about the good things on a day to day basis.

We all know we smell better and all the other benefits like breathing easier and all that stuff...... but what positive thing did we notice TODAY that quitting has brought to us personally.

If it's nothing, then it's ok to say "not one thing." And then we will promptly remind you.......

Every day we make the pledge to not smoke.  Let's remind ourselves daily what that pledge REALLY means.

Today: I noticed that my allergies are not near as bad as when I smoked.  My face doesn't hurt.  I really like that.

Today I was reminded how much better my skin is since I quit. It really used to bum me out before!

Today I started coughing...and it was foreign to me

Sorry for this, but I blew my nose and it was white, not gray with black specs.

The thing that keeps me from chucking the quit away is knowing that the more time passes the easier not smoking becomes. Yeah, far out the teeth are nicer but I still can't run and the doughnut ring around my middle is quite the phenomenon. The whole smoke/quit smoke deal isn't taking up as much space in my mental life as it did earlier.

Today and for the last few days I've been unwell. I noticed the smokers cough was missing. Last illness I was still a smoker and it hurt to cough.

Get well soon ((((Marti)))))

Today - I woke early, and full of energy. Been up hours and not a single cough/clear of the throat.

It feels brilliant!

I only noticed yesterday, my skin has taken on a different appearance.  I was blessed <---sarcasm with slightly ruddy complexion.  As the years went on, I noticed it became more and more red.  After I quit, it gradually reversed itself, I think it's "normal" now.  It was truly unexpected.  Now, I will never own blush, but at least I don't have to cover my skin up with all sorts of junk all of the time :)

Feel better soon Marti :)

I keep being told that I am glowing, and do you know something I LIKE IT  :D

What a pain in the ass smoking was!  This habit (cough cough) is such a pain.  You have to make sure you have all the necessary items, lighters, cigarettes, have enough cigarettes, etc.  And for me.  Here at work we are not aloud to smoke.  I literally got written up for smoking here.  So it was a pain in the ass to find a place to hide to smoke.  Yes, sadly I was reverted back to high school mentality that I had to find a place to hide so I could get my fix.

Smoking is just so not worth the hassle.

Can someone explain to me the changes that happen with your skin ? I see people saying this but how does it specifically change ?

Nothing.

Absolutely nothing.

Not yesterday. Not TODAY. Not tomorrow.

The Sarge doesn't notice anymore.

That's the best single thing, TODAY (or EVER).

You will (sooner than you think) not even care about a damned cigarette any more, nor will you even remember what it was like to want one.

Easy Peasy
