  1. Welcome bavk @Ray1198! Good on you for making a decision to quit for good. We’re ready to support you along the way. As you know, withdrawal can be tough, but it gets better… and is so worth it. Just let those craves pass on by. Cravings are not commands, just noisy commercials for junk you don’t wanna buy. So change the channel… distract yourself with something else. If you stay strong and stay busy, you can beat this addiction! Keep us posted on how you do.
  2. Congrats @SandiK!
  3. Hi, Ryan. With this insight you are equipped to succeed! Say goodbye to the shame, the bondage, and the waste of your life force. Withdrawal may be tough but sweet freedom awaits on the other side! Keep us posted on how things go.
  4. Well done. Attaway to keep busy and distracted!
  5. Well done on your two months @Kdad! It's so wonderful to see your strong sense of determination. No turning back now!
  6. I love hearing this, @Kdad. It is wonderful that you are embracing your forever quit. There is an old addiction recovery mantra that says, “First it gets better, then it gets worse, then it finally gets different.” Welcome to different, my friend.
  7. Hi, Toms, and welcome to the Quit Train! Glad to have you with us. The first few days of withdrawal can be rugged, but it gets better. Stay strong, stay busy and you’ll make it through. Remember that cravings are not commands. They are just noisy commercials for junk you don’t wanna buy. Change the channel! We’re here to help, so let us know how it’s going.
  8. Woo hoo! 8 years! Congratulations!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
