  2. … I thought I needed a new hobby. So I tried…
  3. Welcome back, @darcy. Congrats on your first 24 hours. So great that you’re back on track. Totally agree with @jillar that your sense of what’s possible hasn’t gotten a fair shot yet. THIS can be the quit where you give yourself that chance. My Addict Mind pulled all kinds of fatalistic crap on me for the first 3-4 months… about my being destined to fail, destined to be unhappy, not having the capacity to ever feel well, having smoked for so long that quitting no longer matters, etc. It threw the kitchen sink at me, trying to rationalize why it was ok to revert to smoking again. It was nonsense, of course. “Through a mirror darkly.” I recognize that now. You’ll get there too. Your life has circled around this addiction for a long time, but you CAN break free. You made a great start on that today. Well done.
  4. Hang in there @Brioski. Quitting is emotionally and physically discombobulating. But like you said, protecting your quit means you have stepped OFF that merry go round of regret, and that’s huge!! Keep advocating for the medical help you need. We’re here for you.

  10. …has convinced me that it’s way better to go commando. Except I worry that…
  11. Such a great story, thanks for the bump. Needed this reminder today: “….The only thing I got from it was emptiness…”
  12. Promise.
  13. Sorry for your tough times. I’m having my own version these days. But we CAN do this. Not one thing is made better by smoking… but hundreds of good things are made possible by quitting. Not gonna make things worse by ditching my quit. But damn, this ride is bumpy sometimes!
  14. Happy Easter, all.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
