    Got It!

So good to have Yogi here with us. :)
  17. WOW, excellent tips! It's not the failure that is as important as the lessons learned as long as those lessons are applied to a new quit!!
  18. Love this post! I'm glad you are enjoying the benefits of not smoking. It was such a chore to be a smoker. Even more so if you were a closet smoker because it requires so much work to keep under wraps and you tend to go longer periods without your fix. Ughh. Why did we ever want to live that way!!
  19. How did things go? Triggers suck big time, but I try to remember that when I face a trigger it gets weaker and thus my quit becomes more solid. Just say NOPE kid and you'll be fine.
  20. This is so true. I rushed through all events just to get to smoke time and when it took a long time I was miserable. Pretty pathetic really. This is a great story to illustrate to those who question if they are an addict or not. If you behave this way.....you're an addict. Someone not addicted would never make those choices.
  21. I have much guilt over the poor air quality I felt was fine for everyone around me so I could keep getting my fix. For me, quitting was easier when I thought of the benefits to my children especially so I hope that this can help to motivate others. To those sitting on the fence, you need to know that it's really doable. I can guarantee that it won't be as hard as you thought and you will be amazed at the benefits of quitting. Too many to count.
  22. HEALTH RISKS OF SECONDHAND SMOKE Those who are regularly around the smoke of others (secondhand smoke) have a higher risk of: Heart attacks and heart disease Lung cancer Sudden and severe reactions, including those involving the eye, nose, throat, and lower respiratory tract Infants and children who are regularly exposed to secondhand smoke are at risk of: Asthma (children with asthma who live with a smoker are much more likely to visit the emergency room) Infections, including virus-caused upper respiratory infections, ear infections, and pneumonia Lung damage (poor lung function) Sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
