    Shall We Rhyme?

    Well, that’s weird!
  2. 5. Make a friendship bracelet.
  3. Thank you, everyone! It’s hard to believe a whole year has passed. I feel good, and continue to be motivated to improve my health and well being. The support of this group has been, and continues to be invaluable. I could not have attained this milestone without all my friends here. Kat
  4. Just finished my heavy bag workout. Did 20 minutes. I think that’s a good amount of time for just starting out. I got some wraps to wear under the gloves, after reading the pros and cons of their use. There are bare knuckle fighters out there who don’t see a need for them. For me, I figure these old bones need as much protection as they can get. There are 27 bones in the hand. After my son, Ian, mentioned “micro fractures” is a thing that happens, I was sold. My plan is to do the bag workout 3 times a week, and on alternate days, work out with my dumbells. My treadmill workout is still 7 days a week, 2 miles uphill the whole way, at a rapid pace. I start at a 5% incline, for one mile, then increase by .5% each quarter mile, and end at 7%. My calorie burn is up to 350. Not too shabby for an old broad, me thinks! Kat
  5. Keep up the good work. The first few months are the hardest. Not sure why you would hide the fact that you smoked, from family. They are a good source of support. My kids are all proud of my quit. I will celebrate 1 year on the 10th. Stay close, play our silly games, and, above all, reach out if you are tempted to light up, BEFORE YOU DO! we are all here for you. Kat

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
