Good job Urkster. Keep trudging forward. First couple of days are the tough ones, but you can do it. Keep your mind on the prize - a life free of smoking.

Hi urkster! So glad you found us. This is a great place to solidify your quit. There is plenty of support and education for quitting smoking. Stay close and shout out if you need us. We are all her to help and want to see you succeed. I never thought I could quit until I found this forum. They held me up, made me laugh through the tough times and showed me the path to freedom.
  3. I agree with jillar. That boyfriend is definitely a keeper. Concentrate on romancing him instead of smoking. You are doing so great Vivianne. Stay strong. Your cravings will pass!

Hang tough Kate. You can do this. Everyday without cigarettes gives you more power over your addiction. Love yourself more than that cigarette.
  5. Have a fun and safe trip.

I love my paper too! There is nothing more satisfying than turning a page. I can't live without my daily crossword either. Unfortunately the kids don't deliver it anymore. My husband gets so angry when they don't put it on the porch. They now hire people to deliver the routes in cars. They just toss them wherever grrrrrr.....
  9. @jillar, home hospice requires family to be there. Family has to administer medications and care. These decisions have to be made together. You must be very frustrated right now. I know you do not like to travel, but is it possible to go. I will pray for your family, at this time. My heart is breaking for you.
  10. I am so sorry @jillar. This should be a time that you are on the same page. Maybe she is having a difficult time facing the inevitable.
  11. Congrats on 6 years Sally. Know that you are so appreciated for your dedication in helping others. You were such a guiding force in my quit. I am so grateful to you!
  12. She is beautiful. You should be thrilled that she enjoyed it so much.
  13. So sorry @jillar, that is not easy. I hope you and your siblings can agree upon a plan.

Vivianne, you are just breezing through this quit. Congratulations on two weeks. They keep getting easier!
  15. Well, you two are not alone. I have battled anxiety and depression my whole life. There are many of us. You are right mightyboosh, I am still depressed when smoking, so why smoke. Depression is an illness and is treatable. Sometimes it takes the right doctor and medication. Viv, I am glad you choose life and have decided to quit smoking. You will get more powerful with your quit. If the depression becomes unmanageable, see your doctor.
