I think you are right....im not sure what the new normal will be....but I'm pretty sure it will be brighter than the crap we currently have....we are stuck in the middle but we will get through to the other side to a new normal...here's hoping it's a better normal.

This is such an unknown...and so far as I can see nothing is working....there is no perfect solution...if you take action to protect lives and give the health system a staggering of cases so that it can cope you will inevitable stuff up your economy.....you protect your economy and forsake the health and wellbeing of the people you loose more lives, and inevitably negatively effect your economy.... What we do know as indisputable fact...until we find a cure, effective treatment or vaccine people will die and the economy will suffer...all we can really do is look out for each other and hope that whatever approach our countries make balances the impact to both. Pretty sure none of us are old enough to remember the depression...but we all know we don't want to go back to that degree of hardship...we saw how it shaped pur parents and grandparents...im scared that's what we are heading to...everything is looking like it...and still I'm pro the locking down. It seems we are damned if we do and damnwd if we don't.

And their economy is in just as much mess as the rest of us....if not worse. Sweden isn't business as usual...it just has significantly less restrictions than the rest of us...but it still has them. Their unemployment is looking to be between 9-11% and that's without lock down. I think if you break it down to percentages of the total any developed world comparison is fair...the percentage of the total gives a fair comparison...so your not saying 10 people died h ere and only 2 died there if you go to percentages...10 out of 100 died compared to 2 out of 10 died....the deaths are lower in b but the percentage is double..as long as you look at the percentage of the whole it's a fair comparison. What is worth noting is that the GDP loss in Sweeden is 3 times high than it is in Aus but only a 5th of the US loss. Austral his had stricter lockdown than both...the us was in the middle. It's scary shit, whichever way you skin the covid cat.

Still digesting the news...deaths/funerals have a set routine in my family...and not being able to follow it is making it all a bit harder.

And how many more would have died had you stayed open? I think shutting down was really more about protecting the health system...we just don't have the facilities to cope with the cases if we just gave this free reign at the population? I still travel through the heart of downtown Melbourne every work day...and I cry...because 1 in 5 businesses is gone. Closed, gutted, vacant. Then I think of my uncle...a vet who died alone in a hospital room because of a virus, no chance to say goodbye to his wife, to his kids, to his grandkids, his family.....just gasping for breath he couldn't get while his organs shut down. And now he won't be getting the goodbye he deserves because funerals as capped at 5. Then I think.....we have over populated, we are so clever we are living decades longer and our world just can't sustain this so natures giving us all big fat truck you and culling the herd.

First hayfever season post quit (about the 9 month mark for me) I got smashed wit h the worst hayfever of my life except for when pregnant. Let me tell you the year after, so much better. Hardly needed anything. Do you eat pineapple or drink pineapple juice?...try having some rest pineapple, or a glass of unsweetened juice or even rimmed pineapple in natural juice each day...pineapple is a natural antihistamine and if you start having some daily it helps with hayfever. If you are having gv a bad day j just drink some ju i 've a nd it eases the symptoms. Oh and congrats on your quit...that's a great start you have going. Oh and d not forget to vote on your choice f or ty hhe 2020 quit name.
