  1. How did I just notice this.... UM... what the hell is Shane Sex???????????
  2. Chocolate Gnache.... cos when you make it right you better make double because only half of it is making it onto the cake.
  3. It depends if they are beer, shot or wine glasses. How do I not laugh at a 40kg, 12mth old puppy having a temper tantrum because the other dog is in its spot?
  4. This is why I never arced up over the restrictions here as the new ones came in.... especially the ones around kids. Sure its was inconvenient to have to leave a venue or walk out of your way to avoid a school, kinder, child care... but the restriction was meaningful... 1, the kids aren't exposed to 2nd hand smoke, and 2 the kids don't see it as much... the image they do see is of someone doing something undesirable. The no smoking in a car with minors I am 100% behind, even when it wasn't a law I never did it because it was such a selfish thing to do. What a great idea... maybe also have a talk with someone suffering ill health because of smoking to the course. I actually see a lot of merit in this. OK... re your objections to prohibitive pricing.... I was so glad you did your post, I was really hoping someone would. While I do support the prohibitive pricing because it really is a big incentive to stop (and while the current program is designed to end in 2020, I know at least 1 political party here is already discussing their next measures to extend the program at a branch level) I am torn because of the exact same reasons you spoke about. The socio-economic disparity between those that do and don't smoke is a real thing and prohibitive pricing is placing a higher burden on those who can least afford it... and a big part of me rails at that. And while I disagree with muted government policies to address this by changing welfare/pension payments so that its like a special eftpos card that prohibits the purchase of alcohol & tobacco... and I will march in the streets over that... I see how many people are quitting because of this policy. I see also those who are struggling because of it. Can we just say I am torn... I am falling more on the side of it being good even though in my heart hating it because it punishes those who can least afford it most. It really is a hard issue to resolve within myself.
  5. Congratulations @Silver2016 for being 1 month smoke free! Well done Silver. You are doing so well to have reached your first month of freedom. That is the hardest month done. We know you are learning the site and how to use it but I hope you can get the chance to pop in and tell us how you rewarded yourself for all your wonderful efforts. Being through that first month really is an achievement so you need to celebrate and spoil yourself because it is totally deserved.
  6. Congratulations @Treetop for be Smoke Free for 2 Years!!!! Well done Treetop on your second year of freedom. Your new recliner has been set up on the Lido Deck in celebration of you achievement. Apparently there is a key to a second Lido Deck but as a newbie I don't know where that is. One of the other 2+ gang should know and will be along to share the secret. On a serious note, it is fantastic to log on each day and see a successful 2 year quitter doing their daily NOPE... its like a torch guiding the way for those of us following behind you. Make sure you do something really special to reward yourself for being a non-smoker for two hole years. It is a fantastic gift you have given yourself but rewards should never be undervalued.
  7. Congratulations @Kbc for being 2 months smoke free! Well done Kbc for reaching your second month of freedom. You are building a nice solid base for your quit and heading forwards in leaps and bounds. Make sure to take the time to celebrate this milestone achievement. Do something special to spoil yourself as a reward for all your wonderful work.
  8. Congratulations @MattyBoy for being 2 months smoke free. Well done on reaching your second month of smoke freedom. What a great job you have done of protecting your quit. We would love to know how you celebrated your 2nd month of freedom.
  9. Congratulations @DianeCz for being 10 22 Months Smoke Free! Welcome to double figures. What a fantastic, solid quit you have. You are powering ahead to the Lido Deck and at 10 months you must be able to see the end of that first year on the horizon. Hope you make sure to reward all you work a dedication for this big milestone with something special. Well done Diane on being so awesome you are 2 months away from your deck chair celebration. With all you wonderfully successful 11th of the month quitters needing woohoo celebrations today I got a bit carried away and just didn't want to leave you out as the only one not to get a shout out. I'm not sure why I read 2016 as 2017 though that was a big whoopsie. Even so, 22 months smoke free deserves a drink, and a celebration. Lets just call it a practice run for the 2-peat Lido Deck you have coming up very soon. Oh and I got to use a 22 gif.
  10. Congratulations @Moominmumma for being 11 months Smoke Free. Its great to see another member at their penultimate month of their first year. Well done on all the work you have put in to get to this great milestone. Only 31 days to the big 1 year. I know you have taken a step back from the boards but it would be fantastic to the newbies if you could pop in with an update and those of who miss you would love a catch up post too. So whatever your up to in life, know we are all proud of your achievement and hope you do something really special to spoil yourself to celebrate and reward this milestone.
