    Help

    So happy you didn't smoke!
  3. Nope. I will not smoke tomorrow!
  4. I thank you kindly, sir.
  5. Thank you for the response! I am on patches. My doctor insisted. She would have a cow if I ditched them. 40 year heavy smoker. Like I've said, I have learned so much from these boards, and a lot of it did not make sense at all to me, but it's sinking in. For real. I read Allen Carr and watched the video today, which, btw, was much better. Smoking is just not an option for me anymore. Period.
  6. And there it is...When you take away smoking as an option, there's really no point in having any internal debates about smoking. You don't do that anymore. Thank you. for that. It's off the table now.
  7. Thank you. This has been a real learning experience for me. I thought that I was committed. I really did. I thought that I was ready. Then one night, it was like a switch went off and I wanted to smoke. I threw away a week and now am on my second day. SMOKING IS NOT AN OPTION for me. I can't smoke, and I don't want to.
  8. This is a great read for me today. I'm starting over and this is day 2. I wanted very much to stop smoking, but didn't really commit. I thought that i did, but I fell. Thank you
  9. Thank you so much! Yeah, it got really hard at times, but I'm finding it getting a little easier. I never would have done it without the support of this board and QSMB. I just know that I don't want to smoke anymore. Enough. Nope.
  10. Oh, man. That picture. It makes me want to cry. Thank you for all that information. It's only been a week for me on the patch and I just get head cold like symptoms and a lot of throat clearing and an occasional dry cough. Yes, I can see why it takes so long! The reason I was hesitant with the musinex is that I'm on a lot of medications for other things, and I didn't want to add another one to the list. Plus, you can't drink on it. :P I really appreciate the replies. Thank you!
  11. That sounds really scary. Your signature says it all though.
  12. I don't want to smoke. I was just saying that my walk today was wonderful compared to what I experienced yesterday in not being able to breathe. Thank You!
  13. I was afraid to, but I went out for a walk along Lake Michigan. It was so much better than yesterday. It was beautiful. :)
  14. Ever try it? Does it work? My doctor said to try it, but I'm hesitant.
  15. Not much for me yet. I'm too new. I know it will come though. I just want to breathe again!
  16. Thank you! I thought that tomorrow was a week for me! Tough week! Whew! I just want to breathe again.
  17. That's great! I'm right behind you!
  18. Thanks! I would never abandon my quit to breathe again! LOL, the very definition of insanity. But yeah, I've been sneezing and stuff a lot like I have a head cold sometimes. I had issues while sleeping with shortness of breathe last night. That happens sometimes. I don't know. It will probably clear it's self up, but 2 months seems like a long time. Well, maybe not so short compared to all the abuse I gave them for so long. I'm in for the long haul no matter what happens.
  19. I do go to bed early and just for those exact reasons. Cravings have not been bad today. Just depression and feeling like I have a bad head cold. And the walking to the store fiasco.
  20. I'm in Chicago where they tax the %%$#$%^& out of EVERYTHING.
  21. I quit giving them out when they hit $12.00 a pack. Sorry. No. Mine. All mine.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
