Keeping a close eye on the weather reports. Hurricane Ian is bad action. Just saw some video showing Fort Myers, Florida getting hammered. Damn shame...Fort Myers is one of the most underrated cities in America. Godspeed to all in the path of this storm.

Improvise, adapt, and overcome. We've had some test of wills with Maddie and the word "no." It's her least favorite word. She would pucker up and almost cry if me or Sugar Britches told her no. Now, she's changed her approach. This weekend she was getting ready to play in some water from the downspout after a rain. That water can be a bit nasty so I told her not to play in it. Maddie dropped her head a little bit, rolled those big brown eyes up, and said: "I sowwy." To which I replied: "Oh, that's alright" while observing what a precious little girl she is. She has figured out that cuteness is her greatest weapon and can use it to turn a firm "no" into an "awww, she's so cute." Miss Maddie's toolbox grows by the day. The little gal is a real handful.
