He is awesome - I bet he is going to grow up to be a big boy! It's great to finally 'see' him :)
  12. Hey Brenndy, Sorry you had a crap nights sleep, but I agree with you, and with everyone else who has posted - if the book is not working for you, then stop reading it - there is no right or wrong way to quit! Seems to me you were doing just great without the book, so you just need to carry on. And you really are doing great :) ETA - I never read that book either ;)
  13. Morning All, big NOPE here :)
  14. Lucky I'm here :)
  15. Hi Rob, congrats on your quit :) Yes, getting a cold when you quit is very normal, as are the other feelings you have described, which can persist past the 72 hours it takes to rid your body of nicotine... but, it's not all doom and gloom, and does get better everyday! If you can stick around here, and read and post as much as possible, then it will really help you build a foundation for a lifelong, strong quit :)
  16. Hello, and welcome! Congratulations on your quit! Sounds like you have a great plan in place, so good for you. You will need some extra sugars for a while, and a lot of us drank fruit juice to help with this :)
  17. Way to go Comrade! Congratulations! PS hope you are feeling better :)
  18. Hey Rob, not smoking is great - weather that be achieved by using an e-cig, or by standing on your head for 5 minutes everytime you get a crave.... Reason being, you just want to concern grate on the not smoking part in the beginning. That being said, no one wants to use an e-cig / stand on their head 10 times a day forever - so, having a plan in place is a great idea. A bit like breaking your leg and using a crutch - you use the crutch a lot in the beginning and, as your leg heals, you use it less and less until you don't need it any more :) Of Sharon or Nay are around, I'm sure they could give you some excellent pointers! I just found out yesterday that my SIL quit on New Years, and is using an no-nic e-cig and she hasn't smoked since January 1st - I'm over the moon about that :)

Happy birthday Humbled! Hope you have a great one!
  20. One month is fantastic! Great going, make sure that you treat yourself!
  21. Yes, sometimes posting here can make you feel a little better and take away some of those craves - whatever you are doing, it is working! 28 days and counting!!!
  22. You've been here before Evelyn, and those times in the past, you made the decision to smoke. Try to think back and remember what that was like - did it help you feel better? Are you glad that you smoked? Was life any easier after a pack of cigarettes? I am fairly confident that the answers to all these questions is a resounding NO! Every day I come here and see you pledge NOPE and see those numbers on your ticker mount up, and I am so proud to see that you are nearly a month. Keep going Evelyn, you got it this time - ain't nothin' gonna stop you this time. Deep breaths, drink some juice, watch the good Doctor, and eventually this will pass and you will be stronger for it. The only real option here is to not smoke :)
  23. Good Morning, good people :) NOPE here
