  6. Congratulations on 11 months smoke free @GonSo Great job 👍
  7. Ah well been a bit of time since I've been on. I'll be honest, I'm best staying away and just popping in every now and again. It's what works for me, it's doing me good. I like popping in and sharing how things are going though, keeping you updated and that, it helps. Anyway since I was last in I think I have had 1 hefty night out with friends. In the past this would have been a go to for a failure and an end to my quit. As I have said in the past it feels different this time. I just don't have the feeling anymore. It feels like it's gone, the urge, it feels like it's finally been laid to bed. I hope it has, I hope it never rears it's head again. I'm wary of saying it's gone forever, I don't want to let my guard drop. I have a hatred for it now, I think thats a good thing to have, it has to be demonised. If you have pure hate for it and all it's done in the past to you and your body then that's a help in keeping that guard up. Anyway next Saturday 10/10/26 is 1 year since I last had a cigarette. I was on the lozenges for a month or so afterwards but as far as I'm concerned I set out to pack the ciggies in, they were my addiction to kick after 35 years so that day will be my celebration. I may have another for the day I packed the lozenges in but the lifelong addiction was ciggies so the 10/10/26 is my day.
  8. 11 Months is fabulous @GonSo !!!! I'm sure you're already getting excited to mark your first full year being smoke free. That's a really special anniversary to mark. You'll be filled with pride over your accomplishment; which you should be! I suppose we'd better get that cruise ship tidied up in anticipation for the upcoming Lido Deck party! (if anyone has any ideas of how to get the ship back into the water; please PM me )
  9. Thanks everyone. I missed the date and signed in to see when I quit. No problems with quit. Working on body, lost 4 inches off waist in last year by cutting sugar and lifting weights. Same body weight, just moved some of it to muscle. Hard work at 58/59 years old. Anyways love you all What happed to chicks and sticks game? Part2? How many responses did first on have?
  10. Welcome @robinmccoy99 ! Well done on quitting and I'm sorry to hear you're struggling at the moment. I don't have any experience of Welbutrin or buspar but the brain fog/emotional swings etc in the early days I'm certainly familar with! It is difficult but it will settle down. As hard as it is to believe this at the time, it really will get better!
  11. Hey there - welcome and congrats on your 93 days. OMG the brainfog was the worst! It was like my entire IQ dribbled out the bottom of my shoes for a while. And my satisfaction/gratification receptors were were totally scorched after my own 45-year smoking career… everything felt flat. But have faith and carry on - things settle down after a while.
  12. Gday Welbutin raises your dopamine levels. When you were smoking the nicotine controlled your dopamine. Nothing was pleasurable unless you had a cig with it. Now it’s time to be good to yourself. Rediscover the simple pleasures like a brisk walk. A long shower. A long talk with an old friend. A movie and being able to sit right through without a needing a cigarette break. Now you’re in the drivers seat not the nicotine…. Takes a bit of adjustment
