Welcome @stzr500 and sorry you're having a tough time at the moment. The good thing is you've reached out instead of giving in so that alone shows you're not willing to let this quit go so easily. Do what you have to do to get through each craving, whatever that may be (within reason of course ) until it passes. It's exhausting fighting it but remind yourself during these times that's it's temporary. That's not always possible I know but worth a try. For anxiety and depression, if you can, fit in some physical activity and eat healthier (if not already) to ensure you're getting enough nutrition which may help. You've got this.

  11. Welcome aboard @stzr500! Withdrawal is pretty miserable for those of us who were heavy users. I’m sorry you’re having a rough time. Hang in there. The intense cravings, ups and downs, edgy feelings and despair are normal parts of withdrawal. It gets better - I promise! In the meantime, stay busy… keep your mind and your hands occupied. And don’t give the cravings the power of your attention. They’re just loud, annoying commercials for junk you don’t wanna buy - your addiction kicking up a fuss. Figuratively speaking, change your mental channel and tune out the commercials. And read all you can about this addiction… it helps put things in perspective. We’re glad you’re here - keep that quit going!

  14. Hi Johnny, yes I was on QSMB years ago. I just think it's time to put this nicdemond to bed once and for all !!
  15. I'm really sorry to hear this @stzr500 I tried to quit smoking, prior to quitting for good, by switching to vaping. It is still nicotine and a monster. I think I remember you from QSMB. Stick around, you can beat this nicotime monster. I'm sorry for what you are going through but you can do this.
  16. I fell off the train 2 years ago when my mom passed away. I thought I would vape rather than smoke. So here I am on my 12th hour of my quit which is the hardest thing ever. I vaped 2.4% vuse and regret every second of it now. The cravings are insane, the axiety and depression are far worse than when I quit smoking. Just reaching out and taking it one moment at a time. Good God I never realized just how batshit crazy nicotine is !!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
