  8. Thanks for the update @Reciprocity. It sounds like you have a good team and a smart game-plan. Everyone here on the Train is pulling for you, too. I agree with the suggestion about a driver for your last couple of sessions. When I had radiation, my fatigue was definitely cumulative, and I had to ease up on my schedule for a while. They may ask you to hold your breath for periods of time during treatments. It may help to casually practice that a bit beforehand. I found a couple of well-paced songs to replay in my mind, and that helped a lot. Weirdly, The Wellerman sea chanty was the perfect tempo, LOL. You got this!!
  9. Nope, nope, all the nope.

  12. Thanks Reci for sharing. I am sure like everyone here I think of you and this situation often. Sounds very positive that the treatment will do the trick. I hope the side effects go easy on you. Sounds like you are blessed with a wonderful family that will provide all the help and love that you could ask for. Let them smother you with care, you do deserve it. All the best. Stew.

  18. Hi guys

So I joined originally in 2013 I think. I quit smoking for 8 years! But stupidly started again November 2021. I have tried many many times to quit again but have failed everytime. So I said I will try see can I log back in to where it all started for me 13 years ago. I had great help and support from soo many. So no better thing to do is try and try again. Just at the end of day 2 🙄😔 let's hope i can survive day 3.

I'm sorry to hear you relapsed and have struggled for several years but you can quit again, and for good.  Take the "let's hope i can survive day 3" and just realize you can do this.  You will be far better off.  Stick around and commit to NOPE and continue to reach out if you are struggling.  You can do this and your life will be far better off without cigarettes.

Great to meet you, Sue! As you know, once your quit settled down, being smoke free is a beautiful thing. Time to break nicotine’s grip. Every minute, every hour that you don’t smoke strengthens those quitting muscles. Your addicted brain may throw a tantrum and try to convince you that you can’t get past the cravings, but that’s just the withdrawal talking. It passes. Stay busy, stay determined. You can do this!

  19. Thank you for sharing the update, and glad the doctor is confident the treatment will be successful. thinking of you, and sending positive vibes.
  20. Wishing you the best, Reci. Thank you for sharing what you are going through and I am glad the doctor sounds positive about the direction things are going in. Take care of yourself.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
