What is your favorite scent?

Featured Replies

i know we have a thread about perfumes/body sprays, and maybe we have doen this one before, but what is your favorite scent?

I love the smell of sawdust.  It reminds me of my childhood when my Dad would cut up two by fours on his saw horses in the driveway.

I loved my childhood.  Best smell ever.

Right now is probably fresh tobacco. Life's a bitch.

I live near McKee Foods, home of the Little Debbie snack cake.  On certain days, when the wind blows just right, everything within a certain radius of the place smells like a bakery.

Not to brag, but...sweet goodness emanates where I live.

Been there, done that.  I grew up on a farm and while we didn't use it, the family who's property adjoined ours used to spread chicken litter in the fields.  On a hot day, when the wind was blowing out of the south...that smell would grab the olfactory receptors and work 'em silly.

There's more positives than negatives concerning country living.  However, I can't help but notice when people are romanticizing rural living they never mention the occasional smell of chicken shit and skunks.  It's a package deal.

Hawaii - step off the plane and that tropical smell hits you.  And it only gets better the closer you get to the ocean.

That, and freshly cut grass.

Sarge is on his 14th trailer load of Cow Crap prepping the garden beds for this Spring. 4 cubic yards a trailer load. 350 ish throws of the pitchfork per load.

THAT'S 56 CUBIC YARDS OF DECOMPOSED, COMPOSTED POO!

2 trailer loads a week for the next 10 to 12 weeks ...

Most of it's a year or more old by the time we get it. Smells like dirt and hay by that time. No nasty animal poop smell.

Easy Poopy

Frying Bacon in the morning get my day off to a great start. Who doesn't love bacon :D

Homemade fried chicken. OMG!

  • 2 weeks later...

Gasoline smells great too.

Much safer to sniff it now that I don't smoke

You know, right, that "fresh tobacco" smells like piss and amonia ... with a hint of rotting hay and something not quite entirely unlike tomato leaves, right?

What you're missing is the smell of dried, well-aged, processed, blended, and cured tobacco.

Sarge has always liked that smell.

Long before he was a smoker.

Even now, over 5 years quit.

Nah man, fresh tobacco really. It smells good, when folks are smoking i always take a breath to smell their tobacco. Now stale tobacco on clothes and what not, thats just a disgusting smell.

What you're smelling is tobacco a minimum of 18 months old.

"Fresh Tobacco" is cut from the field. This morning. Maybe yesterday.

Sarge grew tobacco for the better part of a decade.

Sarge says again:

Piss and amonia, Bro. Rotting hay and tomato leaves.

Pees her pants, Sarge you crack me up.

I like the lady Gaga scent 'eau de gaga'

The smell of banana bread in the oven :-) or pine trees
