June 21, 201610 yr Me! :p :D Our area is pretty flat, so other than miles of farm land, there isn't much to see in the way of landscaping....a little further South and you start to get into some rolling hills. Our "Claim to fame" is Lake Erie.... the smallest, shallowest of the Great Lakes, but still pretty massive compared to any other lake I have been on. There is a few Islands that have pretty much been turned into tourist/party spots... Kelly's Island,.. Put-in-Bay...Johnson's Island..... around holidays (4th of July, Memorial Day, and Labor Day) they can become pretty busy! From what I have been told, I really enjoy going there....lol.. :p and seriously....some GREAT Walleye and Yellow Perch fishing! There is something for everyone though...There is the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame....the Pro Football Hall of Fame.... Cedar Point Amusement Park....Various Caves and Caverns,..... A few hours South and there is Hocking Hills and Wayne National Forest... We also have 4 seasons...winter is too cold and snowy , and the summers are too hot and humid...Spring and Fall are great, but too short...so this is a great place to visit, but not in the winter....(Summer heat can be brutal, but I have never slipped and fallen because it was too warm. ;) ) TMI?
June 21, 201610 yr You may well have done.... In Norfolk you would see quaint country roads, winding and narrow and full of potholes! Little market towns with lots of trinket shops and bunting. Our gorgeous coastline with stunning sunsets. Skies filled with stars at night and very rarely a glimpse of the aurora borealis (northern lights). Agricultural vehicles blocking the roads, shops that still close for half days on a Wednesday, sweet shops packed with boxes of old fashioned sweets and thousands of countryside walks. Horses on the road, cows escaped from fields, sheep lining the roadside in fields. Very few hills, slow lazy accents and communities that care about their homes. Carnivals and festivals, seafood and open space. Mostly it's my little slice of heaven, even with its imperfections.
June 21, 201610 yr Ohio River Valley, Cincinnati-ish (47 miles East) Mile after mile of cornfield amd soybean field. It's crazy the amount of land dedicated to those two crops, and virtually nothing else. Occasionally you see Winter Wheat, but it's mostly grown as a cover crop and not harvested for sale as food for people. Low population density - about 85 people per square mile. Rampant herds of ravenous, eat everything in sight White Tail Deer, This is a typical view in the area This is an actual view from Sarge's rooftop looking at the garage and a neighboring 90 acre bean field (about 2 weeks after harvest) a few years back while he was playing Chimney Sweep for the day cleaning out the woodstove innards. June 21, 201610 yr Like sarge, we also have massive amounts of white tailed deer...to the point they are a nuisance!, and our back yards seem similar, only I have a woods that is closer than 20 acres away..lol . which means , any time I look out my back yard, there is at least 1 deer eating the crop :( This is the (Sandusky) River that is located directly behind my house on the other side of the woods...in the winter when the ice starts to break up and tries to head down stream to the Sandusky Bay,(Lake Erie), massive ice jams form. Marblehead (Ohio) lighthouse on the shores of Lake Erie...

We're certainly not without our problems, but a renaissance has happened in this town over the last 25 years. Downtown has been, and continues to be, revitalized. More importantly, a mindset of protecting our natural resources has taken root in "The Scenic City." Home sweet home.

Chattanooga has done such a beautiful job. I remember very well what it was like 25 years ago...and I think it was even mentioned on network news as a not very lovely place. Now it is so clean, and so many wonderful things to do! I wish Knoxville would take a lesson, especially on the waterfront!

I'm a proud Liverpudlian..been here all my life...so I could sure show you some sights here... The famous cavern club...still open and swinging..Beatle mania..everywhere... Fantastic buildings with history....I could go on..Liverpool is a great city...great people.... I do love England...our quirky little villages...our fantastic castles...

Now it is so clean, and so many wonderful things to do! I wish Knoxville would take a lesson, especially on the waterfront! Yes, the EPA labeled us "the dirtiest city in America" and the footage of Walter Cronkite reporting that on the national evening news still serves as a reminder here. Chattanooga stagnated for a while after that. The change that happened here seems almost like a fairy tale in today's environment. The private and public sectors worked together. Democrats and Republicans put aside their differences. The old guard from Lookout Mountain worked alongside young idealists from St. Elmo. Once momentum set in, a real sense of civic pride took hold of Chattanooga. "The Cinderella City."

My world is filled with a bunch of nerdy, geeky things: so 1) You'd see video game systems from the 80s to present... 2) Lots of comics, both American super heroes and Japanese manga... 3) Blu-ray collection and pc disks filled with lots of movies and anime... 4) Boxes and boxes of figures, and also numerous ones on display... 5) You'd see a two large aquariums: tropical freshwater and marine 6) A miniature dachshund 7) Outside, you will see lots of flowers in bloom, or in transition, and a goldfish pond. That's what's in the little part of the world I inhabit.

June 22, 201610 yr If you came to visit me, I'd take you to see Niagara Falls in all it's spectacular glory (about an hour and a half drive) We could head 20min north where you'd think you stepped into Little House On The Prairie....Mennonite town with horse draw carriages, a general store and people selling their produce, eggs, flowers and baked goods at the end of their farm laneways. The city I live in has some of the best restaurants and patios to be found! After a bite to eat we could go to Bronte Harbour and watch the boats coming and going.
