June 1, 201610 yr I remember rain...vaguely. We should work out a swap. If we can have some rain, y'all can have some heat. Wow. If I could post pics I would upload the view from my window right now. It is grey, foggy, windy, raining in drizzle that kind of hangs in the air around you causing your hair to frizz wildly and your body to chill instantly. What I wouldn't give for a bit of heat. And tomorrow night I am meant to be camping for 3 nights!

Very groovy times. No white water, well, a little uphill when you had to paddle like a maniac but, otherwise nice paddling and a moose every now and then with the song of a loony loon. Beautiful. It was only later that I learned, the POWER paddles in the front. Steering in the back is easy peasy. Kinda like, watch me work...you mf. Never mind, I had my fun.
June 2, 201610 yr I am doing a lot more flatwater paddling in a touring kayak. The Tennessee River Gorge is my favorite place for some leisurely paddling. The Boundary Waters are fabulous, gorgeous, magical. I recommend making the trip.

There's a reason c2 and tandem boats are referred to as "marriage breakers" and "the divorce lawyers best friend." The Boundary Waters are fabulous, gorgeous, magical. I recommend making the trip. I'm long overdue for a return trip to BWCA. My dad and grandfather took me and one of my cousins up there when I was twelve. Paddling, swimming, camping, and catching fat and healthy smallmouth bass on a flyrod. Perfection. Sounds exciting though...I'm thinking deliverance... I've run the Chattooga River (where Deliverance was filmed) several times. I'm happy to report that not once have I witnessed psychopathic hillbillies forcibly sodomizing anyone. And the only banjos I heard were played by some hipsters that described themselves as being into "Americana" music.

June 5, 201610 yr Doreen, that's the problem. There really doesn't seem to be a 'better' choice. Today I'm leaning towards 'in' because I quite like Brussels and the European Courts having an input. I don't trust today's politicians to always make the final choices. I had an amazing training session around 'Human Rights' once which literally changed my views. I used to believe that 'prisoners shouldn't have the right to vote', We're too soft on people and that bloody ol human rights stuff was a bit much, you know? Then it was explained to me just why we have that bill of rights. (Sorry if I'm telling what people already know) so back before the Second World War, Germany was suffering an awful economic slump unlike anything we've know in modern day. They were downtrodden and morale incredibly low. And The persecution of Jews started slowly. They were treated with fear and hatred and mistrust. When Hitler came along, the recipe was perfect for his devious plan. The rest as they say is history. But what is this to do with the Human Rights Act? Well, the reason Hotler was able to 'cleanse' society was because the Jews and other persecuted had no protection. They had no legal rights. If you had told people 20 years before that they would be party to the torture, pillage and muster of a race of people, they wouldn't have believed it. The human rights are in place to stop it being possible to ever do that to a race or group again. In terms of giving prisoners the right to vote.... Well, the 'prisoners' of today, I couldn't give s hoot if they do or don't vote. But taking away the right relies on us always agreeing with who is in prison. What if it became illegal to be 'Muslim or Christan for that matter? Or any other political type bullshit? Maybe then we start seeing friends and family locked up. Maybe then we start to wonder why we took away voting rights. I'm not so eloquent that I can really explain but basically, answering to Brussels makes me feel safer. I like our nation answering to a greater power so nobody can get so power hungry again. At least that is the hope!

June 6, 201610 yr I'm counting down the days until we head to the OBX.... The weather looks good.... The girls are all excited!..... And so am I. :) And....when it's all over for the week, and we all go our separate ways, I will come home to a new Mustang waiting for me in the garage. (I hope)..... I tried to talk Sherrie into driving it down (14 hrs one way), but since Janelle(the oldest granddaughter) will be riding with us, she don't think we have enough room for the luggage......I mean really?...how much room can a pair of shorts and a toothbrush take up. That's all that really nessasary! :D . Seriously...Janelle,is a typical 17 year old and will over pack and the back seat of a mustang is only big enough for people under 3ft tall....she would never survive a long road trip back there....

Unfortunately , as you can see,...she has grown a bit and will no longer fit..They grow too fast! :blink: this was taken a couple weeks ago when she was getting ready for prom..... We are taking her with us to give her a break from riding 12 to 14 hrs in a car with a 8 year old, a 6 year old, and a 2 year old...I dont envy Jenni on that ride. :huh:
June 8, 201610 yr I learned today that my divorce atty passed away last weekend. He was semi-retired when he accepted my case and proved to be the most kind hearted man. He was always in line with my desire to just get through it and not be mean about it all. Jim didn't have a shiny office nor charge $400 an hour. Instead we'd meet at book stores or a local cafe for reuben sandwiches on Saturday afternoons to discuss the next step. He was a good man who did good work during his lifetime. RIP JB. ~forever grateful
June 9, 201610 yr Author I am just home from taking care of my friend with Parkinson's while his Saintly wife was away for a few days. What a horrible disease... well, there isn't a good disease is there. I am knackered. Being available night and day and administering drugs every three hours just about did me in that and chasing him around while he ran about hallucinating in the middle of the night. wow. I have so much admiration for all the carers out there. My friend, Doreen is a Hero. My friend, Marcia is a Hero. All you carers are HEROES.

But even getting off the couch is a massive task.. Being attached to a breathing machine is just another hurdle he has... Who has told me...well done you for quitting....me...I like smoking...duh !!!!...well... After the meal she asks me...where's the smoking area...I told her we passed it on the way in...what she's says... Why carnt I go out there...pointing to a open door... No...I say that where the children can eat and play... She tuts and says...but it is outside so why carnt I go there.. I had to have this conversation as to why she carnt... Was I really that stupid...when I smoked....I would like to think not....
