August 14, 201511 yr Oh Nancy, I really do like that Green colour you have chosen... of course it goes great with the dark wood - it is a combination we have used in our house as well :good: But like Bacon, I am curious about the 'island'?
August 14, 201511 yr Author Are they supposed to match? No, the island is not supposed to match...
August 14, 201511 yr I love them! Beautiful contrast! I have countertops slightly similar, I call them no mess countertops (I'm a very clumsy person) because messes blend instead of stand out in the few moments (or hours haha) before you can re-wipe them. :P
August 14, 201511 yr I am so jealous of your fabulous kitchen.....I love it......you chose well sweetheart...x

So glad you like it! There is a lot more detail to be added to the island before it is complete.
August 15, 201511 yr Love it! Nancy you are going to be so happy when everything is just right. They are gorgeous counter tops
August 15, 201511 yr And how lovely they are! :) These posts make me want to own a house even more, lol.
August 15, 201511 yr makes me want to roll dough!! seems like you will get much pleasure from what you are creating!!!
August 17, 201511 yr I never would have even thought of contrasting countertops... but the more I think of it, the more I think it is a neat idea! :) I bet it's going to look great! Any idea when it might be finished?

Any idea when it might be finished? Thanks! They are finishing the floors this week. Bedroom furniture delivered Saturday. Movers coming Monday to move big furniture back up. But there is still a lot of trim work and stuff to be done...so I would guess September 1 for most of it. There is a lot of trim work to be done on the contrasting island...baseboards, corners, and picture framing...it will look much prettier when done.
