Since we're nicotine addicts, cigars are out.

If you smoke a cigar and even if you don't inhale, you've relapsed.  This is my opinion.  What is yours?

Note:  Please, no ecig discussions regarding this.  :)

Cigars and Relapsing

Video discusses how the only successful quits is the current quit and it will only stay successful as long as you continue to stick to your personal commitment to never take another puff.

I'm addicted to Nicotine. No matter the way it's packaged, if it has Nicotine in it I will not touch it. NOPE NOPE NOPE  :)

My husband quit smoking cigarettes 20 years ago while I continued to smoke. He occasionally smokes a cigar--especially if he's at a place where he can get a really good quality cigar-- but he doesn't do it often. I do not consider him to have relapsed.

One of the guys Joel talks about in the video was quit for over a decade, was at a party, was offered a cigar, smoked it (but didn't inhale it) and then relapsed instantly and started smoking again.

Nicotine is nicotine is nicotine.

Should I Reset My Quit Meter?

Video stresses the importance of drawing a clear line in the sand regarding the issue of whether a person should reset their quit meter if they ever take a puff off of a cigarette, or really deliver nicotine via any tobacco product or other nicotine containing device.

Cigar Burning Day!

I'm addicted to Nicotine. No matter the way it's packaged, if it has Nicotine in it I will not touch it. NOPE NOPE NOPE  :)

Yep.   :)  NOPE NOPE NOPE

The only other time I tried to quit - I decided that it was ok to have a good cigar once in a while - well that led to another 8 years of smoking eventually - so NOPE for me of any kind

the only puff that will come out of my mouth again is if it is cold outside and I can see my breath.

O boy... I will catch hell for this... but I disagree.  That is all I will say.

i smoked cigars before i quit    so i say dont do it stay quit   all smoking is bad for you    so nope  not one puff  weather you inhale or not not worth the risk  better off not take ing that cigar   just my opion agree or not  your opion is just as valid as mine  ktq

I think so. why wake the nico demon? Now I do not feel the same way about pot.

i can't have any nicotine products....butts, cigars, pipes, hookah, ecig, gum, blunts, chewing tobacco, whatever...i can't do it.  More importantly...I don't want to.  Oh what a great feeling.

I'm touch and go on this point.

For myself, def not! I wouldn't smoke a cigar anyway but I am very committed to all I do, a few puffs once caught me out for another 14 years so NOPE for me.

My other half quit 7 months ago and has smoked 2 cigars. He was fine and doesn't look to have any issues yet...

So I think you know your own personality best but it's a no for me personally.

My husband never smoked cigs ever but has had a cigar or two at our wedding, his brothers wedding, my sisters wedding and a friends so 4 times he's had one, his brother is the same, I have several friends who quit smoking several years again and would have a cigar max once a year but I personally don't see it as a relapse.
