Hi Everone

Just at the end of day 23.

Not been to bad, Had a few cravings, well I wouldnt say cravings as it wasnt really a smoke I wanted was all very strange so just stuck a boiled sweet in mouth and carried on.

Have been sitting in the garden in our nice sunny weather and I really noticed all the  differnt smells.

Jumped on the scales and jumped off quickly again, didnt like what they said lol.

Hi Jane,

Congratulations on day 23 of your Quit.

I'm curious, if it wasn't a smoke, what was it you were craving?

The boiled sweet?

It warmed my heart to read you were appreciating the smells. Isn't it nice how our senses clear up after a few days of being free from that pungent smoke?

If you don't like what the scale says you should probably get some exercise! ;)

Congrats @Jane on day 23 somke free! Isn't it nice to be able to smell delicate fragrences again? Yet another benefit from quitting. I still get almost embarrassed when I think about how I smelled to others as a life long smoker and the whole time, I didn't see it myself. Keep up the good fight - you're making wonderful progress 🙂

Your primary focus right now is your quit. You can deal with the weight gain later. I agree with Pilgrim though that getting a little more excersize than you normally do will help. Even going for long walks can help.

Day 25 now?
There is now light at end of the tunnel, right? You see it was never so bad as you expected it to be. That's it, it won't get worse. Little by little you'll stop needing it, then you'll stop desiring it, and soon you won't even think about it. After a few years, it would seem strange you ever did it.

Life is so much more enjoyable without smoking, sleep will get so much better, smells will be back, tastes. But not only, the enjoyment of life will be different, you will be very much happier, more content with yourslef and it is all all going to be better, get better and feel better, just hang in there and rock that quit!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
