I've been tossing around the idea of being a pet sitter since finding out what they charge an hour ,.. but pet sitting wouldn't do anything for me in the way of get'n out of the house and meeting new people - but it's definitely something I'm going to think about.

I hope you find a better more grown up way of talking through your issues together tho. I hear you on the being stuck in. Perhaps he was looking forward to spending time with you upon retiring...or perhaps a tad threatened...either way I hope you guys get to the bottom of it.

Lace my advise do an hour's volunteer work somewhere then you can get out and be back for the fur baby and Mr mammoth can flipping lump it!

thanks Marti and Tracey, HB is 63, and set in his ways- to put it nicely, but to be fair his brother and middle sister are the same soooo maybe a family trait ...

 

however, Marti I hadn't thought he might be looking fwd to more time together (he'd NEVER  admit it).. thats something I need to consider

 

going on 'strike' wouldn't work with him he'd just say he managed just fine before he married me he can do it again (we've only been married  8 yrs)..  

 

Tracey I like the idea of volunteering a few times a week - I could afford a sitter for that - I'm gonna look into it after the new year,..
