Doreen, you got your carabiners and quickdraws ready to go?  We're heading over to Foster Falls for some climbing tomorrow.  The weather is going to be cool and dry...perfect!

The good news is: Foster Falls has 179 routes to choose from.

The bad news is: looking through the guidebook and trying to figure out which route is which can be a bit confusing.

Gee Boo, I thought men had natural pointers that help them find their ways.

I thought mens natural pointers were usually responsible for getting them into trouble.

Lemme see...I need a witty comeback.  Something about my dick and rock climbing...Uhhh...

My pointer works great!  I know how to make the bedrock!

That'll have to do for now.

Who's ready for some fun?

Heading up to Obed bright and early in the morning for a whitewater run and a bit of climbing.

Trips to Obed lead to me using words like "awesome" and "stoked."  And I'm not a fan of either of those words.

Hey, Boo, is someone else beating your time ?

Be careful, Doreen !

Couldn't help but notice that Mr. Ortiz held on to his paddle during the waterfall jump.  That's a bold move.

A lot can go wrong holding a paddle when you make impact at the bottom.  The paddle can come back and hit you in the chest or head.  Even holding it to the side like he did, the blade can catch and kick back on you.  I would have tossed the paddle to the side as soon as I started falling.  Then again, I'm not a Red Bull sponsored professional.

There are very few things on the internet I enjoy more than whitewater videos, aka "river porn."

Hey !!!...Boo....you wanna play !!!!

Good luck getting through the rubber suit!

Finally got back out in the woods today.  Tennessee State Parks reopened yesterday.  Got a little overzealous this morning and showed up before the gates were opened.  Got in 10.8 miles of hiking and spent a good bit of time just taking it all in.

They say absence makes the heart grow fonder...I've never appreciated the opportunity to spend a day in the woods more than I did today.

It's good to be back...

Got back out in the woods this morning.  The air was crisp and cool and there wasn't a cloud in the sky...absolutely perfect.  Ran out to Laurel Falls and back.  We had a good bit of rain yesterday so the falls were roaring today.

A good friend of mine once said: "There are three things I can stare at for hours: waterfalls, campfires, and boobs."  Wise words...

I've got about two more weekends to pack in a bit of outdoor adventure.  After that, I'm going to need to stay close to home base for a while.  I can't be out roaming in the woods when the little gal decides to make her big debut.

Looking at doing an Ocoee run on Saturday.  I'll make a place for you in the canoe.
