When the millenials die off and their entire lives flash before their eyes...

Yes, their ENTIRE lives flashing before their eyes, it will look real similar to this, except with a bunch of social media on the screen.

I know when my 20 something room mate and i are out, she is staring at her cell phone the entire time.

Well; it's always something that distracts a generation from the stark reality of real life.  Cell phones and tablets these days, video games and lap tops years ago and TV before that. Even Thomas Edison was looking for distractions even back in his day 😮

Come on now, someday that same guy might run for president. Well maybe not, he doesn't look like he will be doing ANY sort of running.

When people wonder what that handsome man or beautiful woman in the RPG looks like in real life. Well, this might be close.

First phonograph. Does that mean Edison was a hipster?

Reci, here is the funny part - I visit one forum where that gif would cause at least a dozen pages of arguing over what the best turntable is.

One thing I can say about this forum -

Minor disagreements happen but it is like traffic - people flip each other the bird and go on with their day. It doesn't turn into pages of bickering. So yeah, it is refreshing. I wish i were exaggerating about the dozen pages of arguing on the music forum.

I don't know though. There is the heart-wrenching story of Caitlyn Tegart, a millenial who was euthanized some years ago when she went brain dead at age 12 and was confined almost entirely to her room and facebook. What the mom says around 1:03 made me cry uncontrollably.

My nieces and nephews, my cousins kids at the holidays all stare at their phones. They stare at the phones 80 % of the holiday Unreal. I hope they dont turn into that video, thats terrible and so very true. As far as forums and flipping the bird happens, its all perception. Now @jillar must want some attention, whatever it is can i use it in my fire pit tonight?

One of my guilty pleasures in life is watching an internet argument take on a life of its own and get way out of hand.  On the old BoaterTalk forum, the canoe guys and kayak guys used to debate relentlessly.  It was all for shits and giggles back in the day.  I mean seriously...who cares?  More recently, someone revived the debate between canoes and kayaks (the correct answer is canoe if you're keeping score at home) and the debate turned into a full-scale internet clusterf**k.  I'd like to say I didn't watch from afar and have a laugh at the insanity of it all, but like I said...it's a guilty pleasure of mine.

At least paddlers don't argue as much as the climbers do.  Trad climbers hate sport climbers.  Sport climbers hate top-rope climbers.  And everybody hates the boulderers.

This may be harsh but its accurate ... That group has close to 30,000 members of people looking to fight the addiction, the rules are tight as can be but you can imagine the clash at times(popcorn xtra butter). I had to ask two people if they ever dated as it looked to me like a scorned and rejected ex lover(it was over who was right lmao)

There is some good i/we/ all members there can do is help a person like this fight the addiction

I'm older than dirt but I have watched the progression of distractions from "real life" over at least three generations and although the vehicles are different; the principle of seeking distraction to your real world is the same no matter what the generation. Even in my mother's day ( the first generation I have observed) she had the radio on constantly! I woke up every single morning to her singing to some big-band type song which used to drive me crazy at the time but now ..... I wish I could wake up and hear that again today 😞

My only point is that every generation needs an escape from reality. I would agree that today's kids are way over the top mostly anyway in terms of their distraction time. Maybe that's just because life seems that much faster and harer these days. Then again .... that may seem so just because "I'm older than dirt"!

I am thankful we didn't have high-speed internet connections when I was a teenager.

With that much porn available, I probably would have been much more of an indoor kid.

Pretty sure that's what happened to Mr. Titwank; aka: Stewie Tech 😟
