  1. NOPE; NO WAY, NO HOW, NO EVER.
  2. Keep forging ahead. You CAN do this.
  3. Congrats on your decision to quit. Keep up the great work. Welcome back.
  4. Sure thing: January 17, 2015, the day that changed my life!
  5. I purchased a new cell phone with the money I saved.
  6. Thanks to everyone who responded. It means alot more than you know. Take care. And yes, today was another good day. I've found a new hobby; baking in the morning when my cravings are the worst. I make a few baked goods and then deliver them to family and friends. It's nice to feel appreciated. Thanks guys and gals.
  7. Laura, Each day presents new challenges. Face them head on. Scream if you must. Just don't smoke. If you do, you know you will feel worse inside than before you lit up. Please give us an update as to how you are feeling. Best regards.
  8. As you know, I've been having a really rough go of this quitting task. I call it a task because it is hard work. Probably the toughest labor I've ever done in my years. Well, finally today it paid off. Today, I purchased a new cell phone with some of the money I saved by not smoking. It was a great feeling. I hope this good feeling carries over into tomorrow. Hope you are all well and doing well with your struggle to quit, especially the newbies such as myself. Take care and best regards.
  9. Anyone else get the subliminal message too?
  10. We're expecting a big storm this evening into tomorrow. Everything will come to a standstill. I love the freshness and serenity of all the snow.........
  11. It's a resounding NOPE here also. Have a great day everyone. To those of you on the east coast, heads up; the Nor'ester is swiftly approaching. Best regards.
  12. Fantabulous quit Thanks for stopping in.
  13. Thanks everyone for your positive and kind remarks. It means more to me than you'll ever know. Make it a great Sunday!
  14. ........and what a week it has been, as you all are well aware. I can't believe I made it thus far. Today is difficult for some odd reason, I should be feeling elation. What a whacky road this is but I am keeping the path and not smoking. Have a great day everyone; it's a beauty.
  15. I like this. Nice going. Great incentive.
  16. I already knew the latter prior to reading the book. Thanks for your input. Greatly appreciate everyone taking time to chime in and provide their thoughts and opinions. PS: i STILL HATE THE BOOK and nothing will change that. Besides what I already wrote; he is contradictoroy by telling you it is okay to smoke while reading, and he is repetitive to just fill up the pages. DEFINITELY not for me.
  17. I'm not a big Allen Carr fan. He is too one-sided. And he is repetitive. It also made me want to smoke while reading it like Allen says is okay to do. Not rational to me.I put down the Kindle and said goodbye to Allen. No one knows you better than you, So my opinion is whatever works for you, do. And keep on doing. Just don't smoke. This is my smoke pledge for today....NOPE, with 100% percent certainty.
  18. Last evening I began reading Allen Carr's book about how to quit smoking. I'm well into the book and the entire time I was reading it I got the impression that his thoughts are the only way to quit is to go cold turkey. I am using the nicotine patch. This instilled self-doubt, and as a result here I am up at 4 a.m. wishing for a pack of cigarettes to smoke. I wish I never began reading that book. I know I shouldn't cast blame but it just seems odd to me that the day I begin reading it this happened. I think I pill put down the Kindle and forget about the rest of the book and go it my way.
  19. CONGRATULATIONS! YOU DID IT! KUDDOS TO YOU MY FRIEND. BEST REGARDS.
  20. They all look so much more enticing than the bologna and cheese sandwich I had this evening LOL. Nice cooking Leanna. LOVE the chicken quesidillas..yummmm
  21. I think i will need to do the entire course with the patch. I was a heavy smoker (2 pks daily) for many years. If it takes me 7 weeks, then so be it. The main thing is I quit. My son is also in a quit stage, but he is way ahead of me at 21 days. Wish I were him. He never complains or talks about it. I, on the otherhand, need to vent. He skipped the second 2 boxes of Step 1 and went to Step 2 and told me that there was a significant difference in how many cravings he had, which were more. So I think, like I stated before, am going to go the entire course. It is my hope that together we can both succeed and be smoke free FOREVER.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
