  4. @Kdad One thing that I can tell you that will definitely happen the cravings will become less and less the longer you stay quit. It's only been a couple weeks since you quit so the cravings will be strong. Everyone is different, but for me the cravings started to subside a bit after about a month and then got less and less after that. Now, after 19 months of being quit, I can honestly say that I barely get any craving at all. Just please hang in there. Take one day at a time, one hour at a time or even one minute at a time, if you have to. I know you can do this because so many of us have! It's not easy, that's for sure, but it's definitely doable. Do you have any hobbies that you like to do? If so, get involved with that. Anything to keep your mind off of smoking!

  6. @Kdad Please don't go out and buy a pack and give up your quit! You won't be happy after you do it, and I think you will probably regret it. Nothing good can come out of that. I know how you feel, I have been in your position early in my quit where I wanted to buy and pack and just give in. But, then my rational side took over and I thought it all through, and I was so glad that I didn't smoke. Go for a walk, drink lots of water, talk to family/friends, but DON'T SMOKE! You can do this and we are here to help you every step of the way!!!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
