Hi Ray!
I am glad you are back here deciding to quit for good! I am quitting for the 2nd and final time, because who wants to go through withdrawal symptoms again, Not me!! This is what I have been telling people who are new to quitting what worked for me in the beginning days, weeks and months of my quit. I took cinnamon sticks and would pretend that they are a cigarette. I would pretend to suck in air from the stick and then make believe I am blowing it out. It really does help and it also tastes great. If you don't like cinnamon, you can use cut up straws. The 2nd thing that I have been telling people to do is stay close to this board and I am positive that every other person on here will agree with me. Vent whenever you want/need to, the more you talk about it, the more it will help you. We have people on here from all over the world so you are bound to catch someone on at all times. Do the daily Nope pledge every single day. I am quit almost 2 years and I still do it and will continue to do it, as I believe it keeps me focused. Stay close to this site for at least 3-6 months, I come on here most every day which has helped me so much. Ohh and btw, we will never get annoyed at you! We are here to support you and be proud of you with each milestone you achieve. Please don't ever think we are annoyed. In the beginning of my quit, probably up to almost a year, I would complain A LOT, especially in those beginning days and weeks. The longer you stay quit, the easier it becomes. Just don't pick up a cigarette, just don't!! Distract yourself, go for a walk, read a book, watch TV, call a friend! Anything but smoke! Good luck to you and I look forward to seeing you on here a lot!
