  1. Yay sunshine, that's great news! Congratulations on both! I hope you do something special to celebrate
  2. I agree with @Sazerac 100%. There's nothing better than having quit buddies who quit around the same time as you @darcy and @Irene. You guys are sharing in the hardest months of the quit when all these things are happening to your mind and body. As you can see by my signature, there's a certain sense of camaraderie with your fellow newbies. Maybe even join together and give your "class of 2020" a quit name and logo. I'm part of the 2016 Buttkickers and our logo is in my signature

  4. I'm troubling you?
  5. Hi Andrew, sorry about the increased anxiety, that happens to a lot of us when quitting. Others feel some depression. Luckily this too is usually only temporary and will pass but if it's really getting to you I recommend a Dr visit. Not only can he help put your mind at ease but he may be able to prescribe a temporary med to help you past it. And it's so nice to be able to tell your dr you quit smoking
  6. Evenings are tough, we used smoking to calm us down after a hard day. How stupid was that?! Take a nice bath, use my JAC (jillars air cigarette) for bad craves. And listen to your body and do what it needs to recover. That means rest, munch, whatever your body wants to get to work and right the wrongs we did by smoking. I used to hang out in places I normally didn't smoke. I didn't smoke in my car so I would take a drive around the block and the crave would go away. you're doing great and the nicotine is almost out of your system already
  7. I don't know what everyone in my city uses to wipe but there is no shortage here. I just bought a 12 pack of Scott bathroom tissue thinking there would be. We do have a lot of Palm trees here and they've got long fronds so maybe? If I run out I'm using:

  19. That's because we are real sized lol. The negative head space is completely normal and is only temporary. Soon you'll start getting renewed self esteem and pride at being able to quit. Spew as much as you want here. We have a curse it thread in The Off the Record Forum that we've all used and it really helps getting that stuff off your chest https://www.quittrain.com/topic/835-can-we-have-a-curse-it-threadwith-warnings-as-sometimes-i-just-wanna-ffffffffffff/
  20. Yea Irene, congratulations on getting past Hell week!!!
  21. This first week is the hardest @darcy, that's why we call it Hell week! But we are all proof that you can do it. We are here to support you every step of the way so PLEASE post an SOS if you feel your quit is in jeopardy so that you can get past it with our help. Each time you beat a crave you get stronger and that quit gets weaker..

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
