  1. She can't possibly find me - she doesn't know where I live besides, I work on site for weeks/months at a time sometimes so even the wife has trouble keeping track of me :)

    -1 OK - Let's go!!
  3. Welcome J5 :) Hope your other board sorts itself out. I know this place must seem a little strange but any port in a storm is a good one. We have a small (but now growing) group here but we are always very supportive of each other. We also like to have a little fun while we quit! It doesn't all have to be blood, sweat & tears :)

  8. Welcome robrr44 :) Great start on your quit. That first week can be very tough but you've done that now so just keep it going and make it even stronger! You'll get great support here as well so take your seat on the quit train and buckle up.
  9. Yes - it must be devastating to have your community gone suddenly like this. We here are all in the same addiction fight and support each other tirelessly so hopefully you all will feel right at home in no time. We do have a daily NOPE pledge here on the main board so I'll see you there :) Welcome aboard the train!!

1 Go away you pesky chicks .....................
  15. I have heard similar stories of people having those vivid smoking dreams and walking up in a terrible state of mind until they figured out it was just a dream. Good for you though for being so upset about it. Shows how absolutely committed you are to your quit! Carry on - almost at 4 Months - rock solid :)

  18. Easy ladies - there's only one of me to go around - lol!
  19. I'm pretty sure you told me after I reached 3 months smoke-free I would be able to add 2 instead of just 1 each time I made a post to the chicks or sticks thread - right?
  20. Wow that's so cool that you had a painting in the white house :) There's something not many people can claim. Yes, I would love Az., especially the southern part as I'm a warm weather person. Unfortunately I spend a lot of time in cold weather environments when we work on site from time to time. Anyway, my lie was #3 - no bat bites - lol Got ya with that one :) Besides, who doesn't like Pizza
  21. Julian, You won't find anyone here that promotes vaping. You are basically smoking still if you are vaping - just using a different delivery vehicle. Even if you are vaping with a no nicotine product you are still going through the same physical motions as smoking. Breaking those motions of smoking is probably as important and more difficult than getting the nicotine out of your system. There are videos in the "Joel" library here that address these issues. Please spend some time looking into this when you can. Education about the addiction is paramount in helping you to build a solid quit. Congrats for getting through day one! Treat yourself to something nice and carry on through day 2 - you're doing great!!

You're right. I think it will really take a full year before we are re-programed to do stuff without immediately thinking about smoking. That's the reason for the 1 year pledge here. Even though you may feel confident in having a handle on your quit after a few weeks/months; it's those seasonal triggers that can catch you by surprise. If you are no longer committing daily to not smoking, you may just find yourself giving into one of those urges at some point. Stay strong people - protect that quit!
  23. NOPE!

  25. Yes! You're doing great Parsley!! You are about 8 or 9 days quit now? That;s awesome as that first week is the worst of it for sure. The whole 1st month was a bit of a head turner for me to tell the truth but that 1st week was the worst of it. Things will gradually settle down some for you and become easier to manage over the next week or so. Just keep pushing forward. Maybe also go back and enter a quite date in your profile so we can follow your progress better and help you celebrate your milestones. You deserve to be recognized for your efforts and besides, it's fun to have us all fawn over you for a bit - lol. Anyway, great work - keep it up!!
