  2. Don't ya just hate it when this happens?
  3. You'll likely become much smarter after the brain fog clears. I know I did and from what I hear, five thirds of people do get smarter
  4. When quitting Amy, there's a lot of crap that's been plastered to our airways from years of smoking. That crap starts to dislodge after we quit and it takes some time for that to become completely resolved. It may just be something along these lines you're experiencing at the moment. I don't know what your health care options are but I am a firm believer that anyone who has smoked for years (if not decades) should get at the very least a chest X-ray after they quit and better yet, a CT scan. That way you know for sure what you're dealing with in terms of the general condition of your lungs. Depending on where you live, and your age etc., there may be ways to get this done at little or no cost. Worth exploring IMO.
  5. Don't expect many here are hockey fans but most would know the name Wayne Gretsky, one of the best hockey players ever to have played the game. His inspiration, his father Walter, passed away yesterday while still living in the old family home in Brantford Ontario, Canada. A modest home in an unnoticable neighborhood and the place is stuffed full of Wayne Gretsky memorabilia! Cluttered you might say. This is where Wayne grew up playing hockey with his brothers and sister on the back yard rink each winter. Walter was not only Wayne's inspiration but was always involved in youth sports programs in Brantford his whole life. He was never too busy to give a kid his autograph or support their efforts in community sports. He was tireless up until the end in attending youth sporting events and other community youth efforts. The thing he was most proud of was that he was a Canadian! He was always hugely patriotic. Something we could always use more of. If there were more people like Walter Gretsky, the world would be a much better place, especially for kids! Rest well Walter Job well done!

  18. You've poisoned your body every day for years and now you haven't for over 2 weeks. Your lungs and all your other airways have decided to start purging that coating of gunk that's been building up on everything. The human body is amazing at healing itself once you stop trying to kill it. Tea is good. Extra water is good at this point too, will help break up mucus. Keep the tissues handy and hack it all up! In with the good (fresh air) out with the bad (all that gunk)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
