I was about to ask you if you used to be a nurse or something, until I got to the part that said 'even if you, like me, have no medical training'... And you say that you are not some sort of superhero? I disagree wholeheartedly... I think you are amazing :) I am glad that (with your help), your mother is recovering nicely. I am sure that it is similar here, with pateints not getting the care that the actually require. I was also not aware of the cause of pneumonia, nor the simple, yet effective, preventative measure you can take to avoid it. So, thank you - I might well need that information someday :) I hope your journey home is a safe one, and thank you for keeping us up-to-date on the situation!
  2. Ceri, my sister-in-law, popped round my house on Sunday evening, and when she reached for her pack of cigarettes, she pulled one out and said 'this is my last cigarette'. I asked her, did she mean the last cigarette in the packet, or 'the' last cigarette - she told me that she was quitting, and this was the last one ever. Well, she poped over last night, too, and she told us that she hadn't smoked all day (Monday), and that her work colleague (and smoking buddy) has told her that she will quit too. So, now she has a quit buddy, too :) Ceri, if you are reading, CONGRATULATIONS!! I hope that all my subtle hints I've dropped for the last 10 months have helped, even if only a little ;)

Chrys, you sound like a great daughter - your mother is very lucky to have you  Take care, and speak soon!
  6. Very nice video, thanks Lisa :)
  7. Wendy - 2 weeks today! Congratulations! I hope that you are enjoying your freedom, and your new bike! I hope that your husband is doing well, too :) Look forward to hearing from you, and I'm so happy that you are doing this with us! CONGRATULATIONS!!!
  8. Funny, I was just thinking about Sue this morning... Please, let us know how you are doing! Only 20 days until the 'big day' ;)
  9. You did great Nat - proud of you!!! (((Natalie)))
  10. Thanks Dors!! No chemicals for me today!! NOPE
  11. Even better, I think Nat is on the 6th day at the moment... So tomorrow would be day 7 ! :d :d
  12. On your bum? Except it might hurt to sit down for a few days, lol ! You should get one though... Just don't know where. Maybe Jackie or DD or Marti can help?!
  13. The first week is called Hell Week... So the whole week can be bad - everyone is different. And you have almost not smoked for a whole week!!!!!
  14. You can do whatever you like, as long as it isn't smoking! How are you feeling now? Any better?
  15. This is true - there is no such thing as 'just one'... After that 'just one', you would feel exactly like you do now, and want another 'just one' - you can never make your addiction full - the only way to get past is to starve it!
  16. Yep, each time you get past a crave, you get stronger. Your body and mind are healing, but sometimes healing can be painful, or uncomfortable... But it is worth it, because once you are healed, you will feel so happy!
  17. Yes, deep berating will help - 4 seconds in, 4 seconds out... And you should drink something - fruit juice or ice water. These bad feelings will pass soon - they are only temporary!
  18. I will stay up for a while, and be here if you need me ;) Just write here, and I will see it :)
  19. What do you think running to get a cigarette will do for you? It won't make you feel any better, only worse...
  20. I'm here Nat... How are you now?!
  21. Yay Gabby, you are doing so great! 3 months is so, so important! Very happy for you Gabby - please, go out and spoil yourself if you can :)
  22. Swapsies for Balotelli?
  23. I still can't believe United sold Welbeck for £16m... Ridiculous! Really good performance tonight. Delph was good, as I hoped he would be ;)
  24. What a great idea Jackie!! Looking forward to the picture - exciting!! I think we should all get one ;)
  25. Great win tonight :)
