  6. Hiya and congrats on deciding to quit, best thing you could do and If you suffer with the morning stiffness/pain caused from fibro, you'll be surprised how much more energy you'll have now, I've also got fibro among other stuff, I've definitely improved in the mornings, before quitting my legs would barely work with the pain and weakness and I'd cry having to go up and down the stairs because of the pain but it really does minimise alot of morning problems. I replaced my morning smoke with a shower instead and it gave me soo much more energy, loved smelling yummy, baths with candles to relax, meditate, walking and swimming really help fibro and when I would crave after a big meal I'd eat some mints and get out for a little walk, it really helped, pistachio nuts really helped me in the evenings, the ones in the shell so it would take a minute to get it out, make sure and treat yourself everyday at the start, I'd go to Costa Coffee or Starbucks etc and have a cuppa and a cake some mornings and that really helped me through it, You can and you will do this, your life is only getting started, Here if you need anything, Sue xx

  15. Take it one day at a time, you could try quit today/tomorrow without the meds and see how you find it, you'd be surprised it's not as horrible as you think it will be, the fear of quitting is harder then the quit, if you find you need the meds then take them, Don't put off tomorrow what you can do today, 25th of November is a pretty cool quit date and you would be celebrating your 1 month anniversary on Christmas day, sounds perfect to me xx

Lol yep I've heard it pronounced soo many ways, still tastes disgusting though bwuakkkkk Don't know why predictive text spells it Smythwicks, wierd, must be foreigners doing it!!!
  17. Well done you on getting through the day, that is a huge achievement, you really need to understand how well you did, I bet they all stank when they came back in. I know it's hard at first when you quit and everyone around you is smoking but wait and you see they will all start following you and they will be and are already envious of what you've done, you are now their roll model, this time next year I bet at least half them will be smoke free, You've done fantastic please make sure and spoil yourself because you truly deserve to xxx
  18. I kept picturing my kids growing up without their mammy, they were what I quit for, I watched videos on you tube of people dying from lung, throat, mouth cancer etc I changed my morning routine because that was always the hardest for me, my favourite smoke was first thing in the morning when kids were still asleep, so I'd get into the shower first instead and put loads of body moisturiser on, I found when I smelled yummy it really helped keep the craves at bay because I didn't want to ruin the nice smell with the stench of cigs.
  19. Great idea, you can do anything you want to do, All here for ye hun xxx
  20. Ah stop I could go on and on about how often I'd choose cigs over my babies and hubby, breaks my heart the amount of times I would fob them off when they wanted me for something because I wanted to smoke, Every smoker is a selfish person even if they try deny it, its called denial.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
