  7. Thanks for chiming in on the Vape thing @Pilgrim! What you & @stzr500 have related makes a lot of sense, given the increased nicotine levels involved. The other thing that you noted is the difference in how people smoke cigs vs Vape. I had forgot about that but it's so true. They besically go around all day long taking random puffs here & there as they can. That I'm sure also makes a big difference in the addiction level. Wow! Food for thought for sure for us cig smokers!

  17. Good Morning. NOPE!!
  18. Yo stzr500. I was a vaper too. I was a cigarette addict for 13 years, quit for about 12, and then a vape addict for the last couple of years. In Germany the standard highest dose is 20mg, which of course I was hooked on. It did feel like a much more intense nicotine addiction then traditional cigarettes, especially considering the frequency of consumption - a cig burns down after about 10 drags and is done whereas there is no limit to the vape. I, like most vapers, would suck on that thing all day. Chronic nicotine high. As I near my two month Quit, I have to agree, the withdrawals are a real trial. Even now I find myself having almost panic attack-esque symptoms which I can only associate with withdrawal. I also get genuine cravings to this day, albeit few and far between (thank god). Ultimately I'm trying to say it seems the addiction and withdrawal symptoms of vaping indeed take it to a new level. I've been through the traditional cig quit once and the vape quit now a handful of times. The vape quit does seem harder. I've only managed to keep it for two months until now. Strength and determination upon you and anyone else who reads this. NOPE!

  20. Congratulations on 2 months! @stzr500 You're so well and not long until you hit the 3 month mark! It sounds very scary what you have been through. I've never vaped but now it's everywhere and especially with young people, it's very sad. I remember when it became popular here, it was considered to be much safer than cigarettes, which we now know is a massive lie! Thank you for sharing your experience as it can help others massively! Keep up the great work!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
