I'm sitting alone behind a tree in "pitch black dark" on my 4-wheeler in the bottoms (swamp), about 3 miles from the nearest road, waiting to try out some new motion sensor green lights I had recently purchased. When all of a sudden out of nowhere this happened. A wild hog had gotten to within 15 yards of me without me even hearing it coming. (Not my video), but exactly how it introduced itself to me. .... Turn Up your speakers. Don't know if the lights worked :blink:
October 5, 20169 yr Wild Hogs have a keen sense of smell and hearing but, they don't see so well, which makes them especially dangerous, well, that and they are really ferocious. I would hear a tribe of them try and break down my garden fence in the middle of the night in NoCal and would go out with a bucket of rocks to chase them away. I would be up in a tree because they can't climb trees. To have them get the drop on you would be one of the scariest things I know. :o What did you do ?
October 5, 20169 yr Wild hogs are crazy. Damn things practically destroyed my campsite and everything in it one time. One was running so hard it rammed its head into the rear bumper of a Ford Bronco causing a substantial dent. Black bears will leave you alone, but there's no reasoning with a wild hog.
October 5, 20169 yr Was chased by a boar hog when I was stationed in West Germany back in winter of 84'-85'. Guard duty, late at night running through knee high snow while savoring the irony of carrying an unloaded M16. Fortunately a DeuceN'Half was nearby so I scrambled up on it. Important safety tip. Don't carry PBJ sandwich on winter exercise in one's cargo pocket.
October 5, 20169 yr Author This has happened to me before but in the day time and I saw it coming from a ways off. It ran right up under me and the tree I was in and started growling. This time I couldn't see 10 yard away it was so dark and I was so deep into the woods. I was crazy for being there by myself in the first place. The nearest person with a key to our gates lives about 2 hours away. After it growled a few times I leaned over from behind the tree and I could barley see something big and black moving, but it never went toward where I had my lights. It was headed there but it caught my scent first. I shouldn't have sprayed so much OFF mosquito repellent on me. Lol I waited for about another hour trying not to make any noise but it was to late I had been busted. This is one of the ones I have been after for a while now. They are killing off all the native species in our area and breeding like rabbits. Even the biologist have given up. Best you can do is to try and drive them out of your area.

October 25, 20169 yr You are never going to get lucky calling your date a hog even if she does weigh that much. Also your sex tape was boring. She needs one of those sleeping machines to help with the snoring. As for guard duty in Germany. Same thing with a Wild bore and unloaded m16. Our unit was so bad we would have gotten Article 15 if we did shoot it.

October 27, 20169 yr I've seen a bear near our house and a bunch of wild turkeys, but no wild boars. Sounds, ummm, exciting. Be careful out there!

I'm an idiot. .... Hoggzilla show yourself so I can go back to camp and warm up!!! ... Please!!! Shhhhh!!! .... I hear something .....
