Thank you ladies! I keep telling myself that if it was something serious, she'd want to see me sooner than the 18th. That's how I am reassuring myself. I'm growing and still have pregnancy symptoms, so I believe my little guy is okay. I will let you all know how Monday's appointment goes though. :)

Also, I'm not naked in that picture, LOL. A few people thought I was, but no, I am just wearing a light pink tank.

Hey everyone!

Sorry I haven't been updating much lately. I've been really tired. I work all day, run errands all night, and then my weekends are usually full.

I will try really hard to post more!

Soooo... I saw my obstetrician today and had a growth ultrasound. I'm 25 + 1 weeks and they've been having difficulties trying to get a good picture of his spine. Well, he was curled up in a ball today and they were finally able to see the spine clearly. The baby is doing so very well! He weighs 1 pound, 10 ounces, has a chubby belly, and long legs. His bum is pushing up against my bladder, which explains why I have to pee so much. I saw his little hands and feet and I feel like my heart could burst. He kept giving us what looked like a thumbs up.

Here's a picture of him with his hand resting on his head. He's just adorable to me and I am starting to get really anxious to meet him!

As for me, I am doing well! My blood work/blood sugar is normal and my blood pressure is starting to go down. My belly is growing every day and I can feel his kicks through my skin now. I have gained roughly 16-18 pounds and I have a HUGE appetite. I feel like I never stop eating. I mostly crave fruit and vegetables, so that's good.

Me at 24 weeks pregnant:

My due date is November. 16th, so not too far away now! Provided I don't have this baby several weeks early, I am planning on going on maternity 3 weeks before my due date so I can finish setting up the nursery (which I haven't started yet). But I do have a crib, thanks to my brother!

Steve was able to feel the baby kick last night. I can tell when the little one has been active because I wake up with a sore belly from him kicking me, lol. He's got long legs, so his kicks are pretty powerful, even at 25 weeks. The ultrasound tech was laughing because he kicked me hard in the ribs yesterday while she was doing the scan. I am predicting a very active baby once he's born!

Wonderful news!!  So glad all is well!

Look after yourself...and the precious cargo...

This little guy kept me up all night, lol. He kept kicking Steve in the arm! Damn those long legs of his, lol. It's good though, because the kicks reassure me that he's doing okay. :) 26 weeks tomorrow!

So excited for you Leanna and can't wait to see the baby pics when your little man arrives (I'm only here for the baby pics after all lol).  My eldest used to kick all the time too, and we figured he was playing football with my kidneys lol.  As you say reassuring at this stage, but I warn you, it gets a bit painful when your nearer full term and their all feet, knees and elbows!  My eldest is 21 now (and boy that makes me feel old!) and he's still always on the move, although thankfully no longer kicks his old mum :)

Maybe Mister Baby will be born on my natal day,  November 12  or, Colleen's is November 6 and Sarge is the closest on the 17th !

A fabulous Scorpio Bebe.

How are you feeling, Mami ? 30 weeks ?

  • Author

I'd love if he was born between 37 - 40 weeks. Obviously, the longer he stays in there, the better!

I hit 30 weeks on Wednesday. Feeling okay, but am starting to wake up feeling rather nauseous lately. The nausea is on and off all day, but thankfully, I haven't puked yet. I attribute that to lack of sleep. He's a very active baby who loves to kick all day, so I end up getting maybe 3-4 hours of very broken sleep. It could also be from my stomach expanding, but who knows! I'm just happy he's doing well and he lets me know he's in there.

I had my 1-hour glucose drink test and failed, so I did a 2-hour test and haven't heard back from my obstetrician yet. I had to fast for this second test, so I'm hoping that changes the results. Fingers crossed I don't have gestational diabetes! Other than that, my blood pressure has dropped from 140/70 to 130/70, so that's definitely good news! My obstetrician seemed pretty pleased with those numbers.

Here's an updated belly picture. Someone at work poked me in the belly recently and asked me how far along I was. I guess news in spreading fast, especially now that I can't really hide the bump!

Hi Leanna...

Oh you couldn't hide that bump..no way...hope the test come back OK...

He sounds like he's going to be a great football player...

You look great..it suits you...

Have you any names yet.?....

Now I was pounds out with Arabelle...but I'm going for 8lbs 2 ounces...

Take care sweetheart .

Xxxx

Yeah, there's definitely no hiding the bump now! Not going to lie, I was pretty self-conscious about it at first because I don't like to be the focus of attention, but I am too uncomfortable in the clothing that would hide everything. I stopped caring what people thought when I started sweating every day, lol.

We are leaning towards Eli or Oliver. :) We haven't made a decision yet though because we love both names. Not sure about the middle name as of yet. I was telling Steve we should give him a good Irish name like Fergus or Angus, lol

You and Mister Bebe are Beautiful, wear that body proudly !

  • 2 weeks later...

Glad to see you both doing well :)

Looking forward to seeing the next update - not long now! ;)

You do know that you are going to have to feed this baby......

every day.

sometimes, twice a day.

FOR THE NEXT 18 YEARS.

that is 13,140 meals..... and if it wants to eat 3 times a day..... well then you're looking at least 6,570 more meals.

That is almost 20,000 meals.

Congrats on your new little bundle of joy.  Enjoy every day.... cause even though they eat alot, 18 years goes by really really fast.

Just a quick update: I saw my OB recently and my blood pressure has spiked again. She sent me to the hospital a few days later to run some tests. I don't have preeclampsia yet, but she is still worried about my blood pressure and the fact that it's consistently high. I've been getting headaches almost daily and I don't really sleep any more. At most, I am able to get 2-3 hours of sleep. I am drained of energy these and was constantly nodding off in front of my computer at work. I started my mat leave a lot earlier than anticipated due to potential pregnancy complications, so my OB is just having me rest up and we're hoping we can nip this blood pressure thing in the butt before it progresses to anything else.

Now for the good news. I don't have gestational diabetes! I passed my 2-hour glucose test with no problems.

The baby is doing so well and is measuring at about 4 pounds, 4 ounces (however, ultrasounds are usually not very accurate with weight). His heart beat is strong and everything is intact. He moves a lot -- I am always amazed at how something so little can make my entire belly move.

My mother-in-law and friends from book club threw me a baby shower recently, which was completely unexpected and truly amazing. We ended up getting so much of what we needed, thanks to their generosity. I am beyond grateful and am so happy to have great friends.

Hi Leanna ..

Poor mum...pregnancy is hard work..take care of yourself sweetheart...not going to work hopefully will be a big help..

Our prince ...he is doing so well..and growing ...

I'm still saying 8 lbs 2 ounces...

Aww baby showers..wonderful...

Not long now....

Hugsxx

Hi Beautiful Mami,

I am glad you can be home gestating.  Gestate on !  You will get your body back but, for now you are a vessel for boy child.

Have fun.  Be Free in your mind and spirit.

You are a beautiful Human.

Love,

Tasha thinks that the discomforts of the later stages of pregnancy are just there to prepare you for the no-sleep you will have for the next umpteen months... ;)

Hey S,

I'm doing okay. Just waiting and nesting, lol. 9 days until my due date! I see my OB weekly now and the baby was measuring at 8 pounds, 7 ounces last week, putting him in the 92nd percentile (meaning they think he's going to be a big baby). They have started monitoring his movements and have realized that he is a stubborn baby. If he's sleeping, it takes them ages to get him moving. I've had to drink orange juice at the doctor's office to get him going.

The closer I get to my due date, the more anxious I am. I can't wait to meet him, but I also have no idea how to take care of a newborn. There's so much information online and everyone has an opinion. All the information just kind of blurs together and I don't know what to listen to. I'm hoping I just have that mother's instinct that everyone talks about.

I have an appointment tomorrow and they will be monitoring me from contractions, so I will try to keep everyone updated. :) Fingers crossed he decides to come on his own soon and I can avoid any induction methods. They have started mentioning them because of his predicted size.
