Featured Replies

I am not 2 weeks quit. I HAVE this 10 months and I am celebrating. Screwed 3 days up? Then my lido denk arrival will be 25 December.

If you're married, and you have a fight and leave eachother 3 days the marriage isn't over, right?

My freedom life is NOT thrown away. I am still married.

With my 3 Guinea pigs.

Oh did I mention I LOVE you guys? And YOU Bakon, again let me look through some other glasses. Thank you, I might swear at you in the near future outta frustration but you seemingly are right. That's kinda creepy...

Evelyn, you do want makes you happy, this is your quit. The most important thing is you!! Think of how many fags you haven't smoked and we be amazed compared to the ones you have.

As I have said take what you want to from this place at the end of the day this is your and yours alone BUT we all want to support and see you do this.

Sunnyside said it so well....

We all lead different lives...even different countries.... The only thing that holds us together as a family,is we want to support each other to quit nicotine....

You my friend...have kick nico,s backside...OK...it might be a different way to mine...but it doesn't matter...

This is your quit....your rules....

Smoking is not on the table....this sentence sunk in to my brain....it is the one sentence that has kept me quit for 2 years...

It would be great if it got you to ...your 2 years...

Xxxxx

Yeah but can't lie or cheat.

Wait, Evelyn, THREE pigs?! I know I'm not around so much anymore, but I missed you getting a new pig?! What's its name?!

I think lying and cheating is a bit harsh Evelyn! You came out and admitted your mistake. You also picked yourself back up and stopped yourself again. I think in fact I should say I know you are one amazing lady, and yes you will here me say that word to you a fair few times, I say it as i see it.

I still stand by what I said earlier you do what it right for you as long as your happy we will support you whatever, that goes without saying.

If you had ask me what I would do in your situation then I would have to say I would have gone back to the beginning, I have done it to myself, i throw away a two month quit for three cigs and put myself straight back on day one, but making it to a year completely smoke free and the joy and accomplishment of making awhile year without smoking, well you will find out soon enough that their isn't many better feeling out there.

The only reason I usually suggest starting over is accountability to yourself. How many smokers "quit" and then smoke one here....then 2 weeks later take a puff from a friends...a week later another. Yet, they still say they quit. We all know they are only paving the road back to hell.

For me...the only thing the ticker symbolizes the last time I stuck a smoke in my mouth and puffed. That's it.

MQ took the scenic route too and boy was he pissed at himself at the time but now that he has time under his belt, that relapse is not even significant. (Except the lesson he learned).

It's only a mistake if you don't learn from it and I truly believe that you did.

And the good news is...as far as your body is concerned--the healing began 10 months ago because you got right back to quitting--you are continuing to heal and that time counts towards not smoking.

The other good thing is: anyone who read your struggle and may have been on the fence about smoking --well you just may have prevented their relapse by finding out it sucks! They are missing nothing. Don't do it.

And you got back on the quit. That's so rare and precious. Courageous. So proud of you :)

Read your post, Bakon.

True. I honestly struggle with my guilt. It is correct IF i count 10 months, it isn't undone. I think I need a lessonin self care and LEARNING I did from my bump in the road...

And...

and...

and...

no more and or buts. I believe you are right. If I celebrate 1 year in short 2 months I am allowed to do so, it's about the accomplishment, the lesson was tough and no matter what I DID it. The only conclusion I can definetly add is that that one really is a myth and NEVER worth lighting up for.

D*amn how can a human being be so friggin complicated. It's nomore or less then what I wrote above and that's it. No more self punishisch and guilt.

:D

In 5 years it won't matter at all what date's what and what happened when.

But you have to actually make it 5 years, right?

Right?

Easy Peasy
